Indigo Prophecy

I have just completed Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit in Europe  ), and I have to say that it was one of the most unique, visceral, interactive, gripping, and completely kickass gameplay experiences I’ve ever had. This was an extremely profound experience for me, and I was completely enthralled by it literally the entire way through.

When I first began to play this, I played for almost a day straight through without realizing it. It never once occured to me that I should take a break, or do anything else like get dressed or shower; I literally couldn’t stop playing it. I believe that your experience with the game is entirely personal, and so it’s very difficult for me to accurately describe this game, and so I’m going to simply recommend that you at least try it once; rent it if you have a console. This is easily something that I would rate as one of the best adventure games ever made.

Indigo Prophecy is available on everything except the Gamecube

There was a discussion on this before, search the forum.

BTW I finished the game a month ago already and it really was worth every second I spent with it.

Right, found it under Fahrenheit, sorry. I guess you can toss this thread.

I wonder if I get this one ever. Didn't hear anything bad said about it. Only I don't get what genre it is...

Too late to save us but try to understand

The seas were empty -- there was hunger in the land

We let the madmen write the golden rules

We were just Children of the Moon

We're lost in the middle of a hopeless world

Children, Children of the Moon watch the world go by

Children, Children of the Moon are hiding from the Sun and the Sky

Normally I despise music on web pages, but that one impressed me. Downloading the demo now.

Although I'm slightly put off by this from Amazon: "Frequent interludes of rapid button pressing simulate physical exertion as your character escapes a looming threat you can see catching up with you.". That sounds like the godawful attempt at "simulating physical exertion" that certain Commodore 64 games used to use by "waggling" the joystick from side to side.

  • 6 years later...

The necro may be strong with this one, but Fahrenheit IS a good game, played it through several times... once I got used to the funky control scheme on the keyboard.

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
