Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

That is actually higher quality than ThiAf's models. Man Springs, every model you release gets better and better. How does it feel to be on such a roll? I bet it has to feel great! When things go well, then go great, must be an awesome feeling!

Just don't burn yourself out. <3

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Next in the "inspired by Thief" series. Nothing communicates quiet desolation or abandonment quite like dead potted plants.

Now if we had a old skin to match those for your empty bookshelf model that would awesomeness indeed.

Very impressive looking plant pots mister, I can see a few of these being placed outside doors, windows and small gardens..

Thanks guys. :)

How does it feel to be on such a roll?

Heh. I think modelling has been my way to escape the stress of kitchen renovations the last few weeks. And SirGen deserves some credit too--his helping me with my hardware issue gave me a definite morale boost.

Not likely from me...mechanical things are not my forte. Can't draw them; can't model them.

Something of the mechanical variety would be awesome :)

What would you like to have. (pictures?!)

Well something like that yeah, no offense to whoever made the steambot but it's pretty lame and not very intimidating (which shouldn't be the case for security machinary in my view) something a bit more powerful or even something that shots firearrows would be cool and would make for some pretty interesting situations as you try to avoid both being hit and the light generated from the fire arrows.

There are plenty of threads discussing possible steampunk designs, but T2 robots don't fit the bill.

I'm curious Springheel what did you have in mind when you said you would work on AI if you were burnt out on props? did you mean model wise or something else? and did you mean human/undead/animal?

Many of our AI need some updating, and LOD should allow for much greater detail at close range. No more square fingers or sharp butts.

I also have a new female AI I'd like to rig and get in game for 2.03.

@Goldwell: So you want an mechanical ai. That's a bit beyond my skills, though ;)

@Goldwell: Heh no dissing the steambot! I love it and it's much more fitting imo than anything more futuristic :)

@Springheel: Those plants are way better than the ones you used for inspiration. Good going! Very much looking forward to seeing your ideas on AI realised.

I am happy about the new shelf. The ones in TDM were generally a bit too ornate for less wealthy places.

Can the bed have alternate covers? I assume a lot of Builders would prefer a coarse, simple blanket as a form of penance.

First, a little 'inspired by Thief' project resulted in me making a new shelf (two sizes, multiple wood skins) that required a new rivet strip texture

Ah yes, we did need some other shelf models - nice work there mister.

  • Here's the bed. I made a new version of the wood panel texture with a builder symbol, but otherwise it re-uses existing textures (and the rivet strip...builders love rivets)
  • I'll make the pillar available as a separate model as well.

Looks like a much simpler version of the kings sized four poster I made, talking of which could you have a look at that(there is a prefab and a .ase model) and see if any tris can be saved.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
