@spar - it's quite common that parachutes have holes in them ;)

I heard that military parachutes have holes designed to drop faster than civilian ones. Basically they just slow you down enough so that you don't break your legs if you know how to land right. If you came down at a nice leisurely pace, you'd be more likely to get shot in the air. :)

It's also for stability.

If you can't turn off that retarded glowing I won't play it. Otherwise it looks great!

It could be a bit more subtle, but I don't mind it that much. Certainly wouldn't stop me playing it.

With some of the Ion employees transplanted as well: it would've been a lot better. :(

All the ones responsible for Deus Ex's greatness ;)

This desperately needs to be the next coming of a truly excellent action FPSRPG ala System Shock 2, Vampire Bloodlines, etc...

Apparently there is interactive relationships between the NPC's, called the splicer (crazy scarecrow lady with a pair of hand-scythes), and a paired relationship called little sister/Big Daddy

Have you ever played any of the KOTOR games? They're really good. If you have an XBox360 then watch out for Mass Effect by the same folk. They did Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR 1. The only sort of less then excellent game they've done is Jade Empire.

As soon as we get the video from 2K Games, we'll post this IGN exclusive at our regular posting time, about 6:30 pm, on Wednesday, September 20. Stay tuned.

It's past 6:30pm Wednesday already in my time zone, where's my video???!

US-centric bastards. :( I don't even know what timezone they're in (I guess US Eastern? maybe???), so I can't do the conversion. I hate it when they do that.

It's like when they do the seasons thing: "Coming this Spring!" Oy, which spring? Okay, so they don't want to give a specific month - no worries, just substitute "Coming late 2006" or "Coming Q3 2006". Then everyone wins, ya?

(Thankfully you can usually tell pretty easily, because only Americans are self-centred enough to distribute videos around the world that contain hemisphere-specific dates.)

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

Man, IGN's streaming sucks. Play for 10 seconds, pause for 15 seconds. Play for 10 seconds, pause for 15 seconds. Is it too much to ask to buffer the whole thing before starting to play it? And if you pause it manually to allow it time to buffer, it stops buffering. It's worse than Windows Media Player, and that's saying something!

And then they insist on showing me unskippable high-resolution ad videos before letting me do anything; stream, download, anything. I don't mind the occasional image or text ad, but STOP WASTING MY BANDWIDTH.

Can't find it anywhere else though. :/ Sigh. Currently my speakers are turned off and the bandwidth-munching advertisement is playing in the other tab while I wait for it to let me download.

I hate IGN.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
