Request For Door Sounds

That's all, just that. :)

 

Just a general request for door sounds. I thought we had one/some, but I might be remembering the TDS sounds instead. When making rain and snow, it occurred to me, "huh?" I ended up using drawer sounds for wooden windows.

Any progress on this, or any other sounds for that matter? In doing some mapping over the past few days, the very first sound I tried to add to the map - that of a portcullis open/close/loop - doesn't exist. I went through all the D3 sounds, and nothing's really appropriate, so no luck there unfortunately.

 

Aside from the ambients (which are great) and our voices so far, do we even have a sound dept anymore? Seems not.

Have we already posted at Doom3World on recruiting a sound fx creator? I saw a recent thread where somebody offered his help as sound creator, but I guess he's already taken.

 

Or is the Doom3world community rather not our main target group?

- slamming doors

- heavy reinforced door (think castle gate)

- creaks and groans

- sliding metal

- sliding stone (this is in D3, but it's kinda... doomy)

- portcullis as above

 

Each would need start, stop, and loop (for during).

 

I do have a few sliding stone/metal sounds I never finished. They need a bit of editing, but if you need them soon I could probably set aside some time and get them uploaded.

 

I wont be able to do much other than a few sounds here and there I'm afraid, so more people would be welcome.

Well, I must be honest, I don't "need" them right away because I have no plans for a mission release right now. :) But the setting where they're used is already there, but using wood door sounds (imagine that on a portcullis :rolleyes: ). I would just seek to start the fire burning for the sake of them getting there and not being forgotten, that's all. If it's been this long, it probably shouldn't keep waiting.
