Arumakani Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Which is the fastest and safest P2P ? Quote ZylonBane's confession about himself: "What can I say, I'm a jerk. A three times all American Jerk, from Jerksville, Kentucky. Yee Haw"
Fingernail Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 lord knows, but I use emule from time to time and it does the trick. Quote
Arumakani Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 How fast have you d/led on emule? I get really slow d/l's. Also the servers seem dodgy on it. Fingernail Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 it varies does that answer your question? just kidding, it depends greatly on the popularity of the stuff - emule has a load of obscure stuff but it's usually quite slow to get - days even, as it goes on and off, if it's only being shared by a couple of people. On the other hand, I have had speeds in excess of 20kb/s which although is not fast, is certainly fast enough for the kind of thing I usually get (relatively rare mp3s, the odd bit of sheet music, some software) Quote
Arumakani Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 Thanks. It's just way too slow for me. Pity there aren't faster ones. Quote ZylonBane's confession about himself: "What can I say, I'm a jerk. A three times all American Jerk, from Jerksville, Kentucky. Yee Haw"
Fingernail Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 There may be, I know people who use DC++ or whatever it's called. Quote
demagogue Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Which is the fastest and safest P2P ? Uh, real life? Quote What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.
Dram Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Uh, real life? ...and your reason for being an ass is? Quote
Ishtvan Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 No p2p is truly safe. You can always get corporate agents who pretend to be peers and then hit your ISP with complaints if one bit of copyrighted information passes from you to them. Real life is okay, but I always get slowdowns at around 50% complete. Quote
