I have been having a lot of difficulty mapping since the update to 1.8.0 due to a two glitches.

1. Pressing 'W' after cloning a brush causes the engine to crash - this glitch is a new phenomenon

2. Sometimes, manipulating a patch vertex while in ('Q' mode) also causes DR to crash. This makes using patches impossible, because sometimes I will be able to successfully manipulate a vertex and then all of a sudden DR crashes and I lose all my progress.

3. Sometimes, simply drawing a new brush causes the engine to crash for no explicable reason

if anyone knows how to solve the above problems, I would really appreciate it because - as it stands - I cannot continue mapping. :(

Since 1.8.0. Dark Radiant doesn't remember my game settings. I have to re-setup my darkmod folder and the fms directory everytime I start DR or click preferences...

Another thing is that in the 2D-windows all brush lines disappear while I'm in Render mode (F3)

DR not remembering your settings is because somewhere in your path to your DR directory there is a " " (space).

Like C:\Program Files\ <--- no good. You can't have spaces in your DR directory path.

I also had this issue when I first set out :)

Just install DR in like C:\games\darkradiant or somewhere similar with no spaces.

Also, you don't want spaces in your path to darkmod.

What - really, are you serious!? This reminds me of MS DOS or something like that stuff

Why are there so many oldish conditions like "There has to be no space" or "The Folder must be named darkmod" ?? I know I grump on a high niveau right now, but seriously..

Can you elaborate on this? What exactly is not being saved when DR has been installed in a path containing spaces?

Starting a playthrough of the whole Dark Mod, from oldest mission to newest. I've knocked over the first few already and about to start Living Expenses. Only ~170 missions to go!

I'm back! Happy new years, TDM folks!
I brought with me a quick update for my first FM that fixes up a lot of small issues that didn't get caught in beta testing. I didn't exactly expect it to take me nearly 9 months to release a patch, but it's been a wild year to say the least. Teaching, finishing up my Master's of Education, and all manner of other events forced me to drop out of the anniversary FM contest and ate up all my time, but I'm back again in a comfortable position to start catching up on all the new FMs. I may even start work on another spooky project of greater length and difficulty in the coming year.
Thanks again for the warm welcome to the community and have a happy new year!

I got myself the apple tv trial subscription. I have to say, “Foundation” (season 1) is very exciting. Shall I read the books as well?
