quick question. upperclass whore or gutter whore

Ideally one model could work for both. We're trying to make our AI models as versatile as possible, so that mappers can use them in a variety of situtations.

Keep in mind that we're using head-swapping (the head and body are separate models), so you could make multiple heads for your model if you like, one upperclass and one lower. Also, we can have multiple textures for the same model, so clothing could be very rich material in one texture but dirty, plain and tattered in the next.

We have a system that allows us to easily attach models to AI, so accessories like bracelets, pouches, etc, should be made as separate models rather than part of the AI mesh.

In terms of size, the characters should be the same size as the D3 characters...I think there is a female model called Poppy, but I've never looked at her. The hazmat guy should be about the right size though, if you want something to compare to.

What about the feet? Do you all truly think that Oddity's idea to making the feet bigger for proportional compensation is reall good? evertime I look at our models I have the feeling that the feets look extremly big, and I never noticed that claimed effect of them looking better ingame.

I think we don't need to change the current models. But we could make with a new model and see how it looks. I mean, enlargin the feet if it really prooves better, should not be SO big a task. So if Squawks creates a new model from scratch it would be a good way to check it.

The pagan female has more or less "in proportion" feet. Don't know if this was because it was made after everyone else protested against the large feet, or because females shouldn't have big feet :) But I personally wouldn't mind if future models had proportions like that.

We can just say the guards have big boots.

Odd shrank the bigger feet after that discussion. There IS some perspective distortion in the game, and it does have an effect on the feet. Any new models will be judged on a case-by-case basis (besides, the whores wear dresses so you won't see their feet standing up anyway).

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
