My First Location In Doom3 Looks Like Thief

Here is my first location in Doom3 looks like Thief.

I hope that looks quite nice :)

I use my own made textures and others from others games.

There are no models on this location

 

At first i wanna tested the Radiant editor. I never use DromEd and other "unreal editors" but spend meny hours in HL2 Hammer editor. Basic rules was very easy to learn in Radiant when you know Hammer.

 

Now i wating for DarkRadiant and i hope so that i am ready to build some working mission.

 

Probably next month i will publish some new screens from new locations.

 

Sorry for my english, i am working on it (meny years ;)!

Are you sure you don't want to apply to become a beta mapper? :) If you were accepted you could use the Dark Mod's textures and models.

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

Wow! :) That looks very good! You've never showed your mapping talent before, Dziarsky! :)

 

I like textures, colours and lighting! And that's amazing what you can do just with brushes!

 

 

edit: the only small thing I've noticed - the projected texture should be inverted - you should have bright squares and dark bars... ;):)

Those look quite good. You definitely should apply to be a beta-mapper--then you could start using the latest DarkRadiant build and have access to all our textures and models.

You have right PinkDot :). All the time i think that something is wrong with this light texture but i can't find what.

 

About that orange brick texture on screen part01_07.jpg. I work on that normal-map (and others) meny hours and for me i'ts still look only quite good. When i see some profesional normal-maps from oryginal games i think sometimes that are some miracles :). I will try to correct this texture and others.

 

Now i realy think to join to beta-mappers. I dont have lot of times to do levels but i'ts very tempting proposal.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

      Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
