Hi guys, I just recently uncovered your site and I am so excited about you and the job you are currently doing!!! Seems greater now that Ion Storm no longer exists (at least that I heard) and a Thief 4 seems unlikely

 

Well I live in greece and I am currently a university student at the department of informatics, well as far as u say, u arent going to finish creating the game engine soon ( I just downloaded 0.8 and after i post this I am going to take a peek...hehe). Well I am a 2 year student and I was wondering if I could be of any help any time, also considering the distances between (are u all from the same area and country?)

 

I am a big fan of this game because its the first game I have ever played on a PC and i grew up with it and its world Honestly I think it is the best game of the whole world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it looked like a real temptation there and an opportunity to work with you

 

Also no hard feelings at all if u just hit me with the truth! I was just wondering if university- level studies were the kind of studies you were looking for to participate in such project (I know already object-oriented programming and at the sixth-semester I learn about graphics) Anyhow I just wanna help and be a part to that game (that means even being a beta-tester)

Well as I said i am a univerity student at university of computer science at peireus (one of the very best universities for that kind of science in greece) and I am interested in modelling.

 

Well cant say I have yet any skills (as I said, I just finished learning java) just wondering if I will be needable in the manner of time I was hoping to have been familiarised with some modelling skills.

If you want to help us, then you should tell us what kind of area you thought might suit you. Telling is that you are on some university doesn't really help if we don't know what you want to do.

If you want to model for us, then we need to see some models. If you want to code, then we need some samples. Jave doesn't help much though as the SDK uses C++. Using Java might help though, to understand the OO paradigma iof you learn C++.

There is always a need for good medieval type models of all varieties, more importantly TEXTURED models.

There are already several university students working on the mod (myself included). That's not a problem.

 

We do need to see samples of work in whatever area you're interested in helping with.

Uni gives you a lot of technical skills that gives you a big head start on teaching yourself after that.
