Death, Backwards Turn

Both death anims I've seen so far (from Solis and Squills) go forward, so here's one going backwards for variety.

 

It'd be fun to do something a bit more violent, but I'm afraid of breaking that bounding box limit and clipping into something before going to ragdoll.

It looks fine to me, but a bit slow.

I think you need to do a death anim from different angles, hit left, hit right, hit front, back etc.

Also, those new hands need to be fixed, they're too small and look terrible.

Whew, that wasn't so bad :) when I saw your name there, I was expecting you to have ripped it to shreds with all these things I'd missed. I must say, the extensive feedback from the early days certainly has made me force myself to keep looking at it differently - and so far, just when I think I'm done, I see something else, and then I begin a round of tweaking that ends up taking just as much time again. So basically, the first moment I think I'm done, I'm actually half way :)

 

Re: slow - Hm I thought it was an okay speed - he's just starting to topple over, from trying to maintain his balance.

yeah looks cool... i think the speed is alright althought you could increase the speed and see for yourself.

 

if i have to be critical i would say the hips move too stiff/lineair. It just goes in a straight line down when his right foot steps backwards and his left foot seems to slide.

would be cool to see some of those. But are death anims linked to how a character dies.. like shot in the front or back.. does the anim system know which death anim to play or does it just pick a random death anim in the end?

Good... as long as it "Looks good" to Spring, and "Does the job" for oDDity, I can leave it alone.

 

I might un-linearize the hips like squill pointed out, a minor tweak.

 

As for a variety of death anims, ... well, I think these 3 (mine, squill's, and solis') should be all we do for now, untill we work out this death anim trigger thing, here

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname.
