Alternative to imageshack

Recommended Posts

I'm using imageshack, because the site is quite ok to navigate. No endless pages of advertisements and no whistle and bells either. Quite a simple interface. The only drawback - the site is SOOOOOOO SLOOOOOWWW!!!

Are there any good alternatives for Imageshack?

It's http://www.bilder-hosting.de/ I have to check though if it also keeps track of your existing images. Yesterday I uploaded an image as a test and today I can't find it, but I'm not sure if I did it after registering or before. It's essentially similar to imageshack, but much faster, and now bells and whistles or extreme advertising. I found that you can create galleries in it, so I think you can keep track of your images if you are registered. Don't know how long they store it though. The site is in german and I don't know if it is availabel in english as well, but the site is simple enough that it migth still be usable even if you don't understand everything on it. To just throw an image on it, you don't have to register so you can give it a try and see if suits you.

I don't like the little swastika watermark they they put on every image though, at least imageshack doesn't tamper with the images. No wonder it's faster, since most people probably won't use it.

Do they do this? I haven't noticed it, because I haven't used it yet. Just one image for testing, because I already had uploaded my stuff to imageshack. Would eb anoying if they realy do this. :( Well, there are hundreds of other such sites, so I guess I can find some other one. :)

Hmm, testing please. Is it as fast for you as it is for me, guys? (as compared to imagehack)

edit: The Preview is only big enough while me Browser is in Fullscreen, otherwise it´s kind of too little...

Maybe its different for those in Europe or other afars...

...but, funnily enough, the one "free service" that hasn't come to totally suck soon enough is imageshack, IMO. It may be because I'm never in a huge hurry when using it; it may be because I don't use it very often; it may be that the servers are nearer to me...

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
