Famous WoW rant

A guy yelling lots of WoW shorthand (at least I assume that's what it is) and fucking saying "fuck" every fucking three fucking seconds. Fucking great.

Is this actually supposed to be funny? <_< I want the last 4 minutes of my life back.

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

I miss the good old days of MP games when there was only typing. I hate all this voice over internet stuff. I also generally hate mp games, but what can ya do :P

Oh, yeah. The only time I ever dabbled in this kind of thing was back in like 1996 on those MUDs where everything was ascii, "_" was walls and "$" was gold, and players/monsters were just capital letters. And still before aol-speak.

Only problem were people that'd just write a program to play the game for them while they were away, so they'd quickly become immortal, allowing them just run around everywhere slapping people with impunity. I guess, after all the graphics/gameplay improvements, it's still just about people wanting to do that.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

"OMFG! YOU FUCKING STOLE MY CLOUDSONG!!! I'M GOING TO FIND OUT WHERE YOU LIVE, AND I'M GOING FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!"

People get way too worked up over games--the most pointless games, at that. Between them and the prepubescent "t3h1337pwnz0r$" who scream "H4X!" when you easily kill them from across the map in Cuntstrike, I'm surprised you haven't discovered how to turn off voice, or failing that, decided to turn of your speakers entirely. What's so damn sad about it is that voice actually could make both singleplayer and multiplayer games so much more immersive than they are now. Why isn't it? We have your run-of-the-mill, cry-baby awp-whores and fatties twinking it out in WoW to blame for our misery--and that's not even considering the hackers and botters that abound! Why does it seem that multiplayer games bring so much of the worst of humanity to the surface?

...Is it obvious that I've become disillusioned with multiplayer games?

  • 2 weeks later...

I always started playing online games with the friends I had in real life, then slowly built up a network of competent and, most importantly, calm individuals I only knew online. Networking through contacts is the best and only way to play games and maintain sanity. Plus I'm not averse to cutting off contact with someone completely out of the blue if I become incompatible with them.

Loose BOWELS are the first sign of THE CHOLERA MORBUS!

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
