I just got a new computer with Windows Vista (maybe a mistake). I'm trying to install thief G/2 on it, but i'm having some troubles. I need to turn off hyperthreading, I did this with ease on my XP computer, but on this new one, i can't find the DLLCache Folder anywhere in system 32. And yes, i have enabled "view hidden files and folders" and disabled "hide system folders" is it possible that windows vista doesn't have this folder, or is called somthing different? Or maybe i just need to do more to find it, but i don't know what. any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and i'm going off to college next year, and my parents are both thief fans. Can i use a CD crack so that I can play at school, but they can still play at home? Where would I get one, and how do I install it?

Milestones approaching:

Recital: 3-24-12

ToughMudder: 4-15-12

Release first FM: ?-?-20??

You'd be best posting your T2/Vista questions on TTLG, they have a whole forum dedicated to getting the old games running on modern Windows versions.

Don't post the bit about the CD crack though, you'll get banned for that.

I thought CD cracks were legal as long as they were used legitamately, you know, not a bunch of friends swapping CDs. Are they illegal to use even just within a family?

Whether they are illegal depends on the precise details and your legal jurisdiction; the fact remains however that discussing them on TTLG gets you banned (or at least warned, and the thread deleted) as part of their Usage Policy.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
