Bush talks to Rice

I read this two years ago, well, right after Hu became the leader of China, but it's still a classic.

It also reminds me of another spoof done of this routine on an 90's cartoon series called The PJ's, where the main character -- Thurgood Stubbs, a custodian, played by Eddie Murphy -- and the local crackhead (Smokey) form a comedy duo, and their routine is "Who's on crack, Say What's on smack, and I Dunno freebases." Eddie Murphy's voice made it funny. A recording of it used to be online, but now I can't find it.

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

Maybe you did, but I'm not sure about the others.

Anyway, does it matter? I'm just pointing it out. Anyone who hasn't read it before (and surely there has to be at least one such person on this forum) will doubtless find it amusing. Anyone who wants to re-read it will find it amusing as well. Either way, no harm in linking to it.

I had no idea where that exchange came from so thanks for pointing it out. It was a lil strange to think someone would of came up with something so creative like that without any help.

Also to the guy with the name staring with an N which is very hard to remember why are you being so mean?

Ok, here's the PJ's skit.

Thurgood: Sure am happy I ran into you. I'm trying to clean up this neighborhood and thought you could help me by pointing out some of the drug addicts.

Smokey: Well, okay. But, uh, now-a-days drug addicts have some pretty peculiar names.

T: You mean nicknames?

S: Well ... street names. Like Who's on crack. Say What's on smack. And I Don't Know freebases.

T: Well, do you know the fellas' names?

S: I said Who's on crack. Say What's on smack. And I Don't Know freebases.

T: Well, who's on crack?

S: Yeah.

T: I mean the fella's name.

S: Who.

T: The guy on crack.

S: Who!

T: The crack addict!

S: Who is on crack.

T: I don't know!

S: I Don't Know freebases.

T: Who freebases?

S; No, who's on crack.

T: Say what?

S: No, he's on smack.

T: Who's on smack?

S: No, who's on crack.

T: I don't know!

S: Freebase!

T: Shut up you damn, stupid crackhead!

I knew someone would take offense to that. I was refering specifically to the people who had already posted in the thread. At that point, no one had displayed anything resembling an ignorance to the "Who's on first?" skit, and therefore made Crispy's links apparently irrelevant. With just links, there was no way to tell that the links were directed to the then-lurkers, rather than a smarmy, condescending assumption on his part that the posters were ignorant of Abbot & Costello. Crispy has now clarified on matter--no need to jump on my ass about it.

Besides, "Who's on first?" is much more famous (partially thanks to the internet) than Abbot & Costello ever were. "Who's on first?" has achieved international fame, but not necessarily ubiquity within the US (horizontal, not deep). I'd be much more surprised that a German websurfer wouldn't recognize it than I would if the average American pulled off the street didn't.

I found Crispy's posting intersting, because I didn't know where it came from an thought it were unique. Nevertheless, from what I read, I must say that this movie was better then the original script from Abott, because, as it looks, they made up their names to fit the scetch, with names probably nobody would really use as names. But these names are from real people in their position, which makes it much more hilarious IMO.

I'm sorry; I thought you knew--I would have posted the bloody links myself!

Part of the Abbott & Costello skit points out that the names are just nicknames, which helps to make it seem much more plausible. Besides, the skit is just classic! :D

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
