Rogun for animation

Application from a new animator. Goes by the name of Rogun.

 

I was wondering if you were still requiring help for any animations you may need. I’ve had a lot of spare time on the weekends and was looking to perhaps contribute to a mod during my free time. I have spent the last couple days browsing and researching sites and found yours to be interesting. While I had never played Thief before, I am a fan of stealth games. I’ve played Oblivion, and mostly play a stealthy character.

 

 

 

If you are still in need of an animator I would be glad to help. I am currently an animator in a game company, and while I don’t have any examples of work of what I’m currently working on (I need to wait for the game to ship), you can view my student demo reel at www.leeanimation.com . As for software, I use Maya and Motion Builder mostly. If you are in need of someone to rig the characters I can do that in Maya as well. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello! I wasn't really sure what was all needed from me. I have my website to show my demo reel. If theres anything else you need let me know. Or if you want to give me an animation test, whatever is fine. Just lemme know the next step. :)

personally i'd say after looking at his reel that it clearly shows that he can do animated characters. But doing a test animation can be a good start to see if you can do realistic human motions for our characters.

 

We use motionbuilder to do the animation and Maya to export it to the engine.

I hadn't had a chance to check back here for a few days, was on vacation. But Im back. I'll go ahead and animate a sneak animation or something like that to show, maybe some attack animations or something. I dunno I'll think of something.

A sneak animation we don't have so much need of IMO. Better would be for example a cowering animation. Where an AI is afraid and tries to hide in a corner or is about to turn and run away. The animation should probably start from a standing position.

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
