I think that TDM should have a decent medieval cobbles like Thief had. I uploaded the texture as cobblestones05_multicolour_irregular. Screenshots:

Verry nice :)

I'm pretty sure we do have cobblestones of various types, but those are a great addition! :)

We surely all remember cobble streets from T2:

I think the closeset texture we had was cobblestones04_multicolour but it's very regular:

yes, that texture has good normals and not noticeable tiling which is important for large surfaces!

Thanks PinkDot, that's exactly what I tried to achieve :)

It's only a model...

There are red bricks already, but I wanted something suitable for older buildings. Redbrick_dull_small looks very new and clean: http://img140.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newww5.jpg so I added some really old red bricks: http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=churchyk5.jpg

Very nice! :) We probably could also some more variants of the shingles, oh and speaking of that, do you have a more hires version of the red shingles?

Darn, I read bricks instead of shingles :P No, sorry I don't have. But I plan to make better, high res version someday.

Thanks Bob! I uploaded new metal door: http://img3.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?1850259499.jpg

That's a tough looking door! Are you aware of the skinning situation on the door models? Thought I'd let you know if you didn't.

The doors have seperate hinges and lockplates. By seperate I mean there are extra planes on the door models, with skins we can swap the hinge tex seperately from the lockplate AND door. Or use nodraw on either the hinges or lockplates.

What I'm getting at is that we could use your tex as is with nodraw, or we can use any base tex that looks good. All we need is someone to create great base textures and more lockplates and hinges. Currently a few of the wood planks look good for bases and I have a couple ok hinges/lockplates but more would be great.

I actually like that wood floor, think it looks ok for old school wood tiling.

Yes, I know about it but I wanted to use this photo I made and removing the hinges from it wouldn't make sense. Besides I think it would be hard to get the same effect (hinges under bars) with separate textures.

I have also simple doors on my todo list, but a little further :)

Here's my Jolly Roger. I used Corel Painter which I got with my tablet to make the oil painting effect. I used layers to merge it with black t-shirt photo to make it look like cloth:

Where should I put it?

Looks good, though I don't know if it will be useful as a brush texture. It really needs a model.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
