If you're taking requests, Arcturus, we could definitely use some very poor, dirty, textures for our slums map.

I don't think the brick+wood textures are useful, unless the player never sees them close.

It is apparent that the bricks don't line up with the wood, and nobody would put bricks into such a wood frame, anyway, as they are way to heavy and would excert too much force on the wood frame.

I thought they looked a bit odd to, but I guess it is done.

However I imagine that it's purely cosmetic and the wood is actually outside the bricks. I don't think the wood is there to hold the bricks.

Umm, I type that and THEN look at the second pic...

The question is how deep the bricks go, or if they are only a very thin shell around the inner parts of the wall. The second picture for instance looks like if it is seen from the side like this:

The most interesting things are happening between bricks and timber. If you just put timber beams on top of bricks without any "interaction" between those materials it looks a bit artificial.

Very good, these will come in handy for sections of my mill :)

Thanks :) I made another one:

This one's a collage of a plaster and few stone textures from TDM base.

Cool, although I associate these plaster more with modern buildings :)

While you are at it, could you please make brick textures that consist of:

* single rows of bricks without interleaving (1 x 16 bricks is enough)

* brick arches with different diameters

? These would be very useful for making arches. I can do some mockups if you want.

I'd like to see some really good cut stone textures.

Much like the red bricks Tels wants. Just a row of stones that tiles vertically. Would be really nice for making arches with patches and not having to try and align vertically to work around splits in bricks.

I'd also like to see stone base textures that match the bricks to use on matching pillars or bricks made with the clipper.

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
