After I selected "Modify" - "Transformation Dialog" to open up the "Arbitrary Transformation" control window, I noticed that when I click on the right or left arrows for X-Axis Rotate and Z-Axis Rotate that they rotate my brush the opposite way of the arrow.

At least to me, the right arrow means "clockwise" and the left "counterclockwise". You can see the X-Axis rotation in the front ortho and the Z-Axis rotation in the top ortho. The Y-Axis rotation works correctly, as seen in the side view.

Also, since rotating pretty much always makes the brush off grid, maybe there could be a check-box option within the Arbitrary Transformation window to automatically gridsnap after every Rotation or Scale operation.

Please add this to the bugtracker as a usability tweak. Never noticed that, most of the time I just hit the button as often as required. :)

As soon as you register at the bugtracker I will get an E-Mail about your account creation, so that I can give you the according access rights. http://bugs.angua.at/

You're an "updater" for both projects (TDM and DarkRadiant) now, which means that you can read, report and update issue reports. :)

I added it to the tracker, I think I did it right :)

I noticed that but thought it was just me!

Can I also emphasise the check-box option you recommended for auto grid snap though because I definitely do not want it on. I gave up using the rotation tool for the very reason that it corrupts brush shapes and is unuseable for me. Why not add an auto-grid snap option to that tool as well? (maybe it has now? I've never used it since.) I see no reason why a brush should keep grid snapping at every pause while being rotated until it is distorted into a mangled mess. I'd prefer to snap it myself at the end.

About things going the reverse way, while I'm here, I think the vertical and horizontal scale controls are reversed for patches only. Again, I wondered if it was just me but I don't think so. Can anyone confirm it? I think it is OK for brushes.

What would also be needed is an option to rotate only around one axis. I regularly screw up the rotation, because it usually rotates around all axis, when I want, most of the time, only one rotation.

I usually fix it, by adjusting the matrix afterwards, but that's quite cumbersome, and only works easily for grid aligned values.

The rotate manipulator already supports the rotation about the axes. Just press "R" and pick on of the various coloured circles to rotate your objects about one axis.

That might be so. But it's rather hard to really hit the correct circle, or something is wrong. When I select one of the circles and drag as an example left/right it usually always happens that there is also a slight movement up/down, and the rotation follows it. So far I never managed to really do a rotation about a single axis using these circles.

The rotator moves your selection up or down? Can you show me that in an example? Are you talking about primitives or models?

Also, the Arbitrary Rotation dialog already has X/Y/Z rotation. What more can you possibly want here?

I just tried it on my office machine and it beheaved as you would expect it. I have to try it at home again, maybe there is a difference. Yesterday when I did some mapping, it definitely moved around on all axis. Maybe I didn't hit the circle exact enough?

I forgot about the dialog though.

Happy Labour Day, my taffing taffers & hard working mapping friends!
And remember the poor souls who, within the Inventors’ organization, labor under Jonus’s yoke to ensure the success of that very guild! Always remember the hard workers!

Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
