Arumakani
Have any of you played this in the 90's? Can you tell me more about the story of it. The wiki and various google sites don't really explain it. Quote ZylonBane's confession about himself: "What can I say, I'm a jerk. A three times all American Jerk, from Jerksville, Kentucky. Arumakani
Thanks Unstoppable. I've already read the WIki a few times. Thanks for the link to the games. You see I've finished Halo 3 (great game on Heroic and Legendary) and seen the Legendary ending. I just wanted to know the background to the protagonist in Marathon, which nowhere really has... Domarius
Heh, I actually had a go at this game. Played a few levels till I was convinced it was just a cheap Doom clone, using Doom's graphics engine but with different sprites and level design. Their main selling point was that it was one of the few games ported to the Mac at the time... Arumakani
Many folk think it's more involved then Doom, with loads of computer terminals to read to get more of the story, better physics etc. I don't know as I doubt I'd have liked it as I hated Doom. What interests me is the speculation regarding the end of Halo 3 on Legendary and the possibility of a link to Marathon. Quote ZylonBane's confession about himself: "What can I say, I'm a jerk. Komag
Already beat Halo 3 on both Heroic and Legendary!??! I just finished it on Normal (Marine?) and will play through again on Heroic, then finally attempt Legendary. I love the game, it's really impressive and fun. I tried the Marathon demo on 360 Arcade, it did seem pretty crappy like a bad Doom clone, but the terminals were kinda cool, and the weapons seemed cool. It also had some times of fighting alongside several marines, like in Halo

Ishtvan
If you want to go back and time and play a Bungie game from before they whored themselves out to MS, I would recommend Myth. It is a great medieval/fantasy tactical RTS with no unit-building, you just get what you start with and try to keep them alive. I think it was fairly revolutionary at the time for being one of the first 3d-RTS, what is now in the style of Total War, etc. Myth 1 & 2 were great, 3 kinda sucked (okay I just played the demo, but it sucked).
