Okay, I wanted to hollow out a room and have the walls aready be nudged out to not overlap the corners, and I remembered reading that in Fidcal's WIKI tutorial, to use the ROOM command instead of Hollow. But I don't have it! I looked at that WIKI master list of commands and buttons, and I seem to missing all the following:

Snap to grid

CSG Room

Select Tall

Select Entities

Free Model Rotation

Rotate func entity around origin

Curve Append Control Point

Curve Convert Type

Curve NURBS Create

Curve Insert Control Point

Curve Remove Control Point

What's up with that? How do I get them? I'm using DR 0.9.3, but I've always downloaded the 7z version of the new DR's and just unzipped it over top of my existing DR folder, never the installer. Could that be the problem?

My file in <drive>:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\DarkRadiant\input.xml has today's date, and this folder isn't touched when I update DR to a new version, does that have anything to do with it?

Here is a snapshot of my DR screen:

Any help?

That could potentially be the problem. Depending on how long you've been doing that, perhaps there is some old stuff kicking around that is preventing the new features from showing up.

I would nuke your old install and try a fresh one.

My texture lock button (padlock) is on my top menu bar and I have 2 more than you after that.

The vertical menu probably has 5 more buttons than yours.

I always use the instals. I'm at 0.9.3 now but had a mis-instal of 0.9.4 also :D

I think I need a clean instal altogether but it works. Who's got the time eh?

So you really think it's the zip versus exe issue? Then a zip version shouldn't ever be released, only the installer version.

He's not talking about the zip being the problem. It's the way you've unzipped it directly over your old installation that's the problem. Technically one should never do that; even with an executable installer, it's safer to uninstall first and then install the new version in the same place. Nobody ever does it of course. :)

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

But I've never actually installed it. So I should simply delete my DR folder, then unzip the new version into a fresh folder? That still doesn't touch the application data folder thingy (how did that get there anyway?). I'll try it...

... Nope, no change. I'll try deleting the ap-data too...

... WOW, that did it! So unzipping over the previous folder may be harmless, but the main thing is that I have to delete the app-data folder so that it can get re-created with the new updated version. All this time I had no idea.

look at all the pretty buttons....:wacko::blink::blink:

Sorry for being late. DarkRadiant saves your user preferences into its Application Data folder, namely user.xml (your settings incl. toolbars) and input.xml (the key bindings). We changed the user.xml handling half a year ago, that's why very old user.xml files cause troubles.

Anyway, you've found the solution I was about to suggest, so that's fine. :)

Happy Labour Day, my taffing taffers & hard working mapping friends!
And remember the poor souls who, within the Inventors’ organization, labor under Jonus’s yoke to ensure the success of that very guild! Always remember the hard workers!

Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
