Good tutorial HC. Just reading through - made a few minor tweaks, added a word here and here also expanded on 'irreversible' - hope I got that right about location I'm pretty sure. Also, is 'invisible' still active? Don't think it is in Dromed but maybe logically it makes more sense. Actually this might be used to do something like 'secrets'. If an objective is made invisible, say finding a secret object in the chimney, then when frobbed it might be made visible, might be worded as 'Found Secret! You found Blag's hammer hidden in the chimney!'

Looking at the Objectives wiki article it is not explicit but it implies invisible is still active.

Objectives can be set invisible and still be active, yes. As long as they are set incomplete, they are still active.

To make an objective invisible and not active, set it to state invalidated. This can be used to set up an objective that the player doesn't know about until later: you would initially set it invalidated and invisible, then when you're ready to activate it, set it visible and incomplete. (Although it's probably easier to add an objective during the mission by just creating another target_addobjectives with the new objective, [EDIT: setting wait_for_trigger to 1 on it] and triggering it when you want to add the objective).

There isn't an "Invisible" flag. Theres an "Irreversible".

If you want your objective invisible just make sure the visible box is unchecked.

I liked the additions to the logics and enabling.

When I get back from school, I'll fix some typos, put the thing about the invisible objective being the secret objective. And whatever else might need touching up.

EDIT: Glad you guys liked it! :-D

Oooh I like what you did. The sections make it easier to read and I like the extras above the FAQ.

I'll put your name in there too, otherwise I'll feel like I'm plagiarizing.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
