The sleeping pose needs modifying. Currently the back is slightly arched and he floats slightly. If anything, the head should curve up. In this image I have made the bed solid 0 and inserted a nodraw solid cloth so he sinks slightly and more naturally. But because of the back arch and because the head is laying flat (as it would on the ground) his head is buried totally in the pillow. I moved him down here to offset this but you can see if his head was fully at the pillow position it would disappear.

I think if we can get rid of the back arch and give the head a tiny raise just a bias in the right direction. Not much because they also need to sleep on level ground. Then we need the bed models to have lower pillows I think we can work it.

Is it only on this model or does it look the same on all characters?

it varies in degree but most have this arch to some extent. I would have to set up some better tests to get a more precise idea - my test map they are in the dark and on the floor so hard to fly down and get an ideal view. But that nobleman shows it the worse but he was the only one on an actual bed. I didn't bother with the others because I am basically just rough sanity testing AI and including that they do the sleep action at all. I wonder if it is that the AI is supported by the cm on the back and the head/shoulders and legs hang down somewhat? Or is it a fixed pose?

Another problem is that if they have a sword sticking out backwards it may lift them up. Ideally we want them to be as flat as possible on the back and sink slightly into the surface to look realistic. One way is to make the bed non-solid and put a nodraw solid inside slightly lower. But with this arch then their head and boots disappear into the bed. If they can't be flat I'd rather they be biased the other way and sink in at their centre and their heads be a bit higher. Then if we had models with low pillows it might be OK.

In the medival times it was very common for a long time period to sleep in a sitting pose, anyway.

Google failed to give me any images on that, but I saw tons of these beds (build into a sort of cupboard) in Holland. I do have a few private photos and a few picture cards with them, gonna upload them some time later to my gallery.

So we could also have sit-and-sleep animations.

I live in Holland but trust me we don't sleep in cupboards  But i think i know what you mean, they are a kind of build in wall closet beds in which you can sleep upright with your back against the walls.

I said "in medivial times". I somehow thought Holland already left these times behind :P

Edit: Oops, I forget the "in medivial times" part in my sentences about Holland :D

i would look at this if i didn't get an error message once i try to update:

Error Working copy "../darkmod" locked

Error Please execute the "Cleanup" command

but the cleanup command give me another error msg box "..fms/gather/darkmod.txt is not under version control"

edit: removing the corrupted map seems to fix the problem. Updating now :)

ok cool. Also seeing them laying like this it would be nice to see them roll on their side from time to time as an idle animation. But that might be for after the release.

Things have been so bad these days for me...
Just a year ago, I've been feeling dizzy, I thought it was nothing, today's stress, that type of thing, went to sleep...Still dizzy! 9 more days dizzy, went to doctor (I would have gone on the first day if NOT for the long appointment time)
Said it may be Neck Dizziness...I did exercises for 6 months, no changes.
Went to a Physical Therapist, went to another, no changes.
I've asked my doctor for a full check this time.
I hated yesteryear so much due to personal reasons, this year might be the same.
To be brutally honest, I'd rather have cancer or/and chronic pain than suffer dizziness any second longer, especially when nothing helps.
Hard to enjoy Thief when you're dizzy so I was hoping this year, Winter will be best for me.

      Hello mappers and taffers!

Are you still out there? It is so calm here these days and I am afraid this is no good sign.
Proof me wrong, tell your best friend (=me), that you are still here and that you will not go away!

Happy Labour Day, my taffing taffers & hard working mapping friends!
And remember the poor souls who, within the Inventors’ organization, labor under Jonus’s yoke to ensure the success of that very guild! Always remember the hard workers!

Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
