Can't get FM missions to load

First off - really excited about this and want to support this effort - props to the team and thanks.

I feel totally ignorant but cannot figure out how to get the 3 FM missions to show up. The training mission is working fine but there are no others to load. I've downloaded the three FM missions and extracted them into the doom3\darkmod\fms directory. It's weird but nowhere in the .zip files are an actual PK4 file and the extraction process doesnt create a folder with the mission name and a pk4 file inside it like the training mission.

What am I missing? any help is appreciated.

First of all, congratulations to the Dark Mod Team, the Dark Mod is very impressive. Thank you!

I downloaded Dark Mod 1.00 and played the "The Dark Mod Training Mission" without any problems. I then downloaded and played "The Chalice of Kings", "The Crown of Penitence", and "The Outpost" again, without any problems.

After that I downloaded "Thiefs Den", "Closemouthed Shadows", and "Saint Lucia". I copied their "pk.4" files and inserted them into my "fms" folder so I could play those missions but they didn't work, the game didn't load the pk.4 files.

Is there any way I can play "Thiefs Den", "Closemouthed Shadows", and "Saint Lucia" with Dark Mod 1.00?

Thanks!

I understand. Although I think it's a shame that those other missions will eventually be lost and forgotten because they aren't compatible with Dark Mod 1.00.

Some good news:

besides 'Tears of St. Lucia' having been ported a while back already,

Fidcal took care of converting 'Thiefs Den' to TDM just yesterday, too. Ready for download !

I wonder if someone could contact Lord Savage to do the same for 'Closemouthed Shadows' ?

Don't think I've heard of that. Was that an FM made with Den assets?

see First Unofficial FM From non team member

I haven't played it yet, but given the fact it was the very first FM (sept. 2008)

I would say it deserves a place in the Hall of Fame.

Would be a shame if it disappeared into oblivion.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
