I realsie that makes me sound like a miserable cunt, but while you are all waiting for your special days in the year, which have been allocated to you by tradition for the purpose of enjoyment, I'm happy enough enjoying myself on any random day I feel like it.
I totally agree. But if on this particular day everyone feels inclined to buy me chocolate, who am I to argue?
Tradition is an excuse for mankind to act out of the ordinary and get away with it.

As a devout atheist I don't have an easter at all, happy or otherwise.
Don't worry; the event has lost its original meaning to a degree that it is safe for cynical atheists to enjoy it. I'm agnostic myself, so I can happily enjoy the perks of any religious holiday without compromising my worldview.

Our Mod is actually a huge RPG multiplayer game. You can choose to be either a Thief, Guard, Hammerite, Mage, Pagan or Mechanist. The moderators will be all powerful Keepers. You can play it online, but we'll charge you a tenner a month and the server will be so busy half the time you'll have to queue to get on.

We invaded England in 1405.
But we're still fighting through political means. Killing Englishmen became old hat years ago. In my experience they just don't understand the damage they've caused, and so don't really deserve to be shot.

I'd rather we do not have loot glint, and the map makers position the loot in such a way as it's rewarded for sneaking rather than turning the house upside down. Put it in plain sight, but in places you're more likely to get caught. I become annoyed with small rings hidden under the cushions of sofas; it rewards obsessive searching and luck, not sneaking.
Sneaking is what Thief is all about. All things should come back to sneaking.

The campaign is short and sweet, so if we tried to integrate all of Doom 3s clever features we'd end up with a handful of gimmicky maps and no 'proper' Thief ones.

You can KO someone who's alert in T2? So much time wasted fleeing like a little girl.
I think the most important thing about KOing guards is the Kerr-chunk when the blackjack whacks them. Satisfying.

T3 does not equal bad. T3 wasn't as great a game as T1 and T2, but it had a brave, unique style which I applaud. It didn't quite manage to pull it off, but I think Renz' pagan stuff has shown that he can do so, mostly because of a better use of textures and colours. There was good stuff in T3, and we should be inspired by what worked rather than positioning ourselves as some kind of binary opposition just because some unrelated features weren't up to par.

I wouldn't call the T3 style cartoony, just a bit more artistic and surreal. We can borrow that surreal style in some bits... there was nothing wrong with it, apart for the fact that everything was washed out, either blue, black or grey. Add that surreal artistic T3 style with a few crazy primary colours and you have a decent look that should be used in moderation. I point to some of the Pagan stuff Renzatic has produced, which I think looks awsome.

Dizzy was my thing, but I never completed either one of the series. That damn vulture always got me.
I used my make simple games like this. I once made one so addictive it consumed my life for about a month. I had to manually delete it in the end, so that it did not spread like a virus throughout the world and cause the collapse of civilisation.

I've played it now, and it's great! It feels as close to the other Thief games as you could have made it.

I'm going to a land less broadband for two weeks from Sunday, so I'll probably play T3 again to get my 'Thief fix'.

It looks really great oDDity. But are you sure about that feet proportion thing? His boots look absolutely bloody huge in the first shot, even taking the perspective into account.
