I almost fell to the same trap. I too first looked around the church. After cursory inspection of the church sconces I checked the map and realized I was in the wrong place.
EGADS! I finally found out the same thing that I had been wasting all my time looking through and around the church.. bah! Church/chapel pota-toe po-tah-to .. I was ready to call the whole thing off ;-p Seems a bit evil to me to have a church and a chapel .. so many of us were looking in the church pff

Hmm .. ok I have all the objectives but still can't find a way to..
lower/get to the drawbridge. It looks to be the door behind the cage but I can't find a way to open the cage.. roped up top and see nothing there that opens it either.
Also not sure what the footlocker inspection key is for, I opened all the footlockers I found via lockpicking
What am I missing?

Can someone take pity on a player who is obviously missing something obvious.
In the third mission where is the entrance to the
Basement Vault
I think I must have been in every room at least 10 times without finding anything
Read this to see where hidden vault is:

In the third mission I found something odd.
While searching for more evidence inside his room, when I tried to blindly frob something on the table there was this 'clunk' sound.. I eventually tracked the exact point where I could frob to make the clunk sound:
I couldn't see anything opening nearby, though.
Yeah I heard that too but I can't see any kind of lever or button there. WAY too hidden if it's supposed to be one. Can't tell what it does either.

Near the beginning, in the area after the guardhouse, you can climb up a wooden bridge. From there one side leads to the Builder area through a door, on the other side there is an open window. Enter the open window and look for another open window in that building.
Solved thank you
I had looked out of that window but assumed it was somewhere I had already been
Ha! I had thought the same thing, didn't realize there was a whole other area through that window. thx! Oh btw is there a Lockdown Two still coming?

I found the doll Dewdrop but couldn't find what do do with her. Does she serve a purpose?

Great! Got Radiant running after installing that C++ package and can now see all the entities. Thanks a lot folks!
-
I tried to run DarkRadiant but I get and error saying it can't find MSVCR100.dll .. I\m running windows 7 is that a problem? Wouldn't the install install that dll itself?

RE: the portal, is there any use to it? I simply burn to death if I try to go through it :-o

I've just started looking into mapping and hadn't gotten to DarkRadiant yet. I was just researching where certain information is in the darkmod directory and how data is kept before I looked into mapping. Sounds like playing with Darkradiant is the best way, off to download it now, thanks

er.. found under playertools where exactly? On the wiki site? In the dark mod directory on my PC? Not sure what you mean?

I enjoyed Chalice quite a bit!
Two questions:
Is the false brick supposed to hide anything, or are we to assume someone else got there first? The room owner did suspect someone of stealing his things. Also, is there a way to open that armory room?
Neither prevented finishing the mission, but I'm still wondering.
Peispud (spoiler) :
Look up, down all around
mikenowo (spoiler) :
I've looked around Hodge's room but can't find this brick you speak of?

Is there a list somewhere of all the Dark Mod entity/model name? I checked the wiki but can't seem to find model names .. for example I know of 'ammo_waterarrow' .. but was looking for other entities like compass, etc

I was using the maps, I think the reason that I and others kept thinking church and chapel were the same is that we saw it afterwards on the 2nd floor and it stuck in our mind going through it a lot, while the chapel I had only visited once earlier in the game and it just slipped my mind :-p Also, there is a statue in both so the 2nd one is more recent in memory as well. Just a thought process thing really heh. In any event once I got past that was smooth sailing. Excellent work, lotsa fun .. sadly I've done all the Fms that were available now and will be in withdrawal
