I have one as well (link in sig box below).
My camera is a Kodak Easyshare z612 so the quality of my photos aren't great.
Maybe I just need to take better pictures. Your photos are very nice, though.

Here's an inspirational shot I found on DeviantArt for the modeler:

This is just an opinion/suggestion but I think that it would be wise not to put an actual face on the Treebeast like they did in the LoTR movies.
But whatever you want to do...

I just downloaded it earlier to play Psychonauts and I haven't come across any ads so far. The only downside is that you can only play them when Gametap is open. Similar to Steam. Also, only some of thier games are free. For the rest you have to pay a membership fee of some kind.

Combine it with this:
Still needs improvement in speed.
Another option: The Omni-Directional Treadmill

Ok, got it working
Crap, nevermind. Doom 3 crashed.
It wouldn't find it in C:\Program Files\Doom 3\thiefs_den and gave an error saying that it couldn't load the map file.
So I thought, "hmmm, it looks like it's trying to find it in the maps folder" so I installed it there and was able to dmap...
...but...
for some reason it caused D3 to crash.

Which Thief's Den folder do you install it in? Is it:
a. C:\Program Files\Doom 3\thiefs_den
b. C:\Program Files\Doom 3\darkmod\fms\thiefs_den
or
c. C:\Program Files\Doom 3\darkmod\maps
because when I tried option A it gave an error saying that it couldn't find it.
I'll try again.

I noticed in your fire_element.avi video that you have "Sanctus" playing in the background. I'm a Lacrimosa fan myself .
Do you speak any German? If you do then there are plenty of native Germans on the forum that will help you out if English is giving you trouble.
My german is rather limited (I only know a few words and I can't speak a complete sentence) and I'm only getting started on learning Russian (I'm still learning the alphabet).

We already discussed the concept of an odormeter which any AI is equipped with. We would also implement a stochastic system that let's the thief break out in sweat when a guard is nearer than 2 ft from him. In extreme cases the player would fart in random intervals, which is of course handled by the odormeter as well as soundprop. This should give players a serious immersion boost that would only be surpassed by getting the player's mom to periodically breath at their neck when he's being chased by a builder.

Anyone with a decent camera and tripod can do this.

Okay, everything works now!!
It looks very good on 1680x1050. Especially with the Thief Enhancement Pack that I got on Komags site.

Does anyone have a spare thief2.exe file? I must have replaced my original with a shortcut.
~Daniel
-
I already have version 1.18.
I tried the DDFix and now my graphics are all messed up. Even after replacing the DDFix'd thief2.exe with my original one.
Looks like I'll have to re-install but I'm not sure if I have the CDs.
What OS are you using? For some reason I always had trouble with .bat files as they disappear after you try to run them.
~Daniel
-
Okay, I downloaded the DarkWidescreen zip file and tried to follow the instructions but when I try to run the .bat file it disappears immediately.
The WeiDU.exe file runs but it gives alot of meaningless (to me, anyway) options, and I can't make sense of the Technical Documentation.txt file.
Is there something(s) that I'm not doing right? How exactly did you get it to work?
~Daniel

Where can I get the Widescreen fix?
...or is that included in the DDFIX?
~Daniel

I agree, the multicolor gives it a nice touch and it took me forever to find the pattern.

How embarrassing this will be if we recommend the one that is giving you grief.
I looked up Mindplaces on a domain info site and found out the alleged hosting site is www.gate.com (aka www.hostsave.com).
Is that correct? If it is then at least we know to avoid that one.

If money is a problem then you can try www.nearlyfreespeech.net. It's a 'pay for what you use' type of service.
I have an account with them myself but no website yet.

Ok, I tried adding the .tga, _ed.tga, & _local.tga files but it gave a Commit Error saying that the _loc
al.tga file already exists.
So then I tried commiting just the _s.tga file and was able to commit at revision: 4826
Next was the _ed.tga file at revision: 4827
Then the .tga file at revision: 4828
The _local.tga file is giving me some trouble. When I try to update the darkmod folder it gives an error:
"Error: Failed to add file 'C:\Program Files\Doom 3\darkmod\textures\darkmod\nature\snow\snow_rough01_local.tga': object of the same name is already scheduled for addition"
(This is when the _local.tga file is removed from the \nature\snow folder.)
Yet I can't add/commit the _local.tga file because it will claim that the file already exists.
Would reverting the file help?
In other news, the "remove 'the _BM' from your username" trick worked fine
