  1. Well, if you want to be precise, he said it's "useless to expect them to make a new and better thief, because their job is making money".

     

    That implies that making money excludes the possibility of making a new and better thief, which I disagree with.

    Maybe I wasn't precise. I don't mean that money and art exclude each other all the time, I say that most of the time they do.

    Someone comes up with something that is a success in many different ways. Other people think they could replicate that success by adding things to the old stuff, improving it, to keep making money.

    Maybe they manage to replicate the commercial success, but only as an empty shell, devoid of originality and art.

    It just doesn't work. If you're worried about the numbers, you'll be worried about peoples's expectations. Now, it's really hard to surprise people with

    something fresh when you're tied to their expectations.

    So, yes, it can happen, but not often, and certainly cannot be repeated at will.

  2. A miracle because that group of very talented people could slided in through that narrow window of opportunity that opens from time to time, to deliver us such an artsy game. Now, if you want to continue that experience, darkmod is the way for sure.

  3. Coolness is a disease of our times, I think. Everything has to be cool, whatever that means. In a world where game making is a big profitting industry, games like thief are expected to be an exception. Same thing goes for the movies. You need a story, or an idea, then, the way to make it happen. They have the means to make it, but they are out of ideas. They don't like the original thief, or at least, if the do, they're not sure why they liked it, maybe they just think it's cooool. So, why don't make it a little more cool by adding a lot of crap to it. You could clearly see that when they changed the rope arrows for the climbing boots in T3. It's really useless to expect them to make a new and better thief, because their job is making money, not art, not original stuff. The fact that thief have been both, is a real miracle.

  4. Amazing mission! Very logical. Everything makes sense.

    Those unusual foes add a lot of tension to gameplay. I liked the fact that you actually had to pay attention to the clues in order to survive, I mean the instructions were not merely decorative, as it frustratingly happens sometimes.

     

    Something I noted: there's a tray in the kitchen, that reflects the landscape from the outside, I think.

    A critic:

    Although the LQ has a human form now, the body she took, as she points out in her journal, was seriously damaged in the process, so, shouldn't her voice be a little more... let's say... unnatural?
