Just went to download this through the in game downloader and after queuing and hitting download my screen froze. My question is: Could this be because I had the Gatehouse as my main menu screen (see pic) and not the regular Dark Mod main menu screen? Don't know if it would make a difference to uninstall Gatehouse. Advise please. Thanks.

Congrats Bikerdude & Goldchocobo, on the release of this mission. Don't know how, but almost missed it and so glad I didn't. I really liked this mission because I like
puzzles of all kinds. The mirror was was a little tricky but figured out which button went to which mirror and eventually got it. The others were nice to do also, (why are there spike balls on the ceiling? Hmmm?) The readables gave just enough clues. The only one I had some difficulty with was the statues - didn't know the value and couldn't find a readable so just ended up guessing.
All in all enjoyed this one even the
lava hop at the end. This took a few tries as I kept missing where I was suppose to go next as well as my poor jumping skills didn't help
Thanks again.

Yay, me I did it! I'm glad I was able to get through. It was (despite some blankety blank blanks aka
spiders
) a nice little mission. I actually liked your
tunnels and having to use the lantern, it really added to the tension knowing what was down there, mostly why it took me so long to get it completed and truth be told they weren't so bad. I must say thank you though for not including in the no kill objective because I couldn't have done it without the arrows.
Look forward to your next one. Thanks again. Forgot to mention I also attained my personal goal.

Yes*note to self, renaming it "Short" mode and including notes on level size differences between levels not enough...
I'll probably use the first page of the mission briefing to provide "out of game" notes in the future, such as on my WIP, since I am heavily modifying the "difficulty" settings in that.
My apologies to those for whom it didn't come through clear enough. :/ (And I didn't think that was the issue at play here, due to the talk of moving things that can't even be moved in short (easy) mode.)
Note Thiefette, "regular" mode includes things I believe you might not like, hence "short" mode being an option players may choose. :-)
spiders
but see their there anyways. More important though becomes my personal goal of getting all the loot and can't do that on easy so will try and get through on a harder difficulty. Thanks for the mission by the way.

Doh! 'Splains a lot! Will restart myself.A-ha! That would explain it - I had got all my objectives on Easy, and then spent over half-an-hour trying to find my way into the caves. Driving me nuts, it was.
Restarted on 'Normal' and am now blundering around cluelessly underground, but I'm sure I'll find my way somewhere soon. Love the total darkness ambience btw.

Finally got a chance to go back and try this and I am still having crashes as soon as I get by the
horse and cart
. I tried restarting from different previous saves with the same results. I don't see anyone else having had this problem recently so I will just leave it unplayed. At least I got through the first time (albeit with some difficulties then also). Sorry.
-
I actually didn't try again but will as I remembered theIs this a one off or does it keep on happening? I haven't encountered this before. I don't know what to suggest.
balcony issue - it was like that
on a previous play through which worked when I went back to it. Will let you know.
-
Tried playing this yesterday and as soon as I got by the
horse and wagon in the city
it just crashed.

Voting will end on the last day of November.
I will amend the article to reflect that Sir Taffsalot is not a participant then as well.
Can you provide a full list of missions for this contest, I want to be sure I haven't missed doing any of them. Thanks.
-
You can also drop items once they've been used if you feel they won't be needed anymore. Example in Fieldmedics "Not an Ordinary Guest" I managed to get
all the rooms keys before grabbing the master as I was taking them very quickly. I found a spot in the attic - so I'd know where they were should I need them - and just dropped all the other room keys.
-
Thanks! That is really creepy by the way.
The only thing I can come up with is that maybe one of the light switches is connected wrong, so that turning on the lights for example downstairs might also trigger the upstairs light. That OR your copy of TDM is haunted
cue Twilight Zone theme music.

Well since it's a non-fixable problem than no-clipping the area would technically not be cheating? Hmmmm... Edit: Used noclip in the area and still had freezing but got what I went for. That has been an extremely random problem. So random that we missed it in testing.
Unfortunately, the time we have to fix that has disappeared. However, the time being spent elsewhere will greatly benefit the community. Just you wait and see

Congrats on the release. Great little mission! My game in game is getting all the loot, which I did .
I liked your secret ways in (or out) well maybe not the one I used the dirty little key for so much but the idea was a good one. I have one comment - when I turned the light off in the bedroom upstairs, the guard came in, did his waiting than left the room. After he was gone the light came on. Did you put a ghost in the mission cause it wasn't me.
Thank you for hard work and I look forward to more from you!

Originally put this on the original NHAT post (#459) but maybe should be here: I'm on the first mission and I'm at the
cathedral. I've gone in three times and three times the mission's frozen on me but at different spots. Once was heading to the back stairs on the right (as you enter), 2nd time I made it past that spot and was in the middle of the walkway above and looked towards the hall area and the third time I made it past the first two spots, down the front stairs and was just heading into the hall and if froze again. Each time I was eventually returned (or able to return) to the main menu.
After reading the posts have noticed that others have had similar problem to this but don't know what can be done. Did I miss an update? Don't really want to skip it as there's
loot in there.

Wondering if maybe I should have put this under "No Honor Among Thieves 2.0" thread?

Well got the rest of my loot
should always remember to look carefully in some of the more obvious places - stream bed . Have to say I really liked the 2 ways in(or out) scenario. The changes that you made are positive ones - the archers having to practice, the rooms being less spread out. The grass was incredible and I liked that the balloon could go both ways. I sent it back down as I'd already found the other way in and wanted an easy way to get back to the top if needed. I missed a couple of readable's - one in the desk (mixed in with other frobable scrolls) and the one on Pyle (first couple of times I'd snuck up on him I just never saw it - too bright in the area maybe?). Besides my earlier discussion of Pyle, thought I'd mention that his stool was half off the platform but not falling and I never made a shadow even when I was directly in line with the lantern and should have. There was also a couple of nails floating (with shadows) beside some boards at the tunnel entrance near the rabbit.
All in all I enjoyed this revision. Thanks again for your hard work.

Congrats to both of you on the update. I am finally getting a chance to play this and so far love the changes you've made except the
radioactive spider at the beginning. Nuff said. lol.
. I've been through it but must go back as I seem to have missed some loot but I did want to mention one thing that is a carry over from previous version:
When I blackjack Pyle he still flys off the scaffold, halfway across the room and of course dies. I guess I could leave him alone but thought I would check it out to see if the same thing still occurred.
Will try and write some more when I finish up. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Hey Thiefette,
Thanks for the detailed write-up, and I'm glad you had a good time!
For the loot, I'm not sure if these are what you missed, but there are two pieces in the city section which are only available if you grab them before you get caught by Markus. The first is in the requiem service inside the church and is a bag of loot on the waist of the parishoners, the second is in the crypt and is a holy symbol inside Father Hanno's sarcophagus. Both of these will disappear (technically teleport up to the blue room) after you descend into the caves.
For Father Markus's journal (good eye finding that by the way), there is a hidden optional objective you can complete with it. Just think about who might be interested in the contents of the journal.
I got the bag of loot on the hip but don't remember if I got the holy symbol - there was so much loot - which I loved by the way. As for the journal I'll have to go back and give it another go as I was thinking Hakar but I guess that really doesn't make sense.
Thanks again. Edit -
I went back in and gave it to the good Captain good to know the brother will get what's coming to him. Also decided to have one more look for my loot. I knew it was something small as I had ...74 out of ...75 so thought about where I'd picked up loose change and since I was back at the beginning of the mission started there - missed the one on the ground Yay, got it all!

WOW! What can I say that hasn't been said already! Absolutely fantastic!
I started off feeling a little lost but once I got going, everything, throughout the whole mission flowed. Your readables were just enough help to keep going. And go I did, it took me 8 hours not including a few reloads with the new enemy, and I got all but one piece of loot which is why it took so long - lots of nooks and crannys. I had missed the green grocers loot (red as it was) but had gone back in and dug it up. I had some lag in the area just outside of the temple with all the zombies but nothing that really caused any problems playing. To figuring out what "earth" was I did have to read here so that slowed me down for a bit. It was really creeeepy after I picked up the jar and they were all just watching me, wherever I went. Gave me the shivers. I liked the new AI except I found it difficult to tell where they were as their footsteps seemed to echo a lot (could be my settings) so relied on sight and timing to get through them. One of my favorite spots was after I dropped the jar, I could take my time searching for loot all the way back to the tower/house? If my missing loot is between there and the arch I guess its gone because I searched everywhere else at least twice. Oh well. I did wonder about the book I got from under Brother Markus office - was an objective or something like that supposed to come up as nothing happened? Or did I miss something?
Thank you for all your obviously hard work. Look forward to more from you!

Thanks Obsttorte, I was trying to get them through the in game downloader and was running into some difficulties. I will probably just go to your posts to down load them as I'm still having difficulties - see reply in this post to Bikerdude.@Thiefette: There was no update to this mission, as it was tested under 2.0 already before release. You can download the mission from the link in the first post in this thread.
Bikerdude - things still aren't working for me. Have deleted all "Oldhabits" in FMS folder and redownloaded 1& 2 (as listed) from in game mission loader. In FMS folder they are listed as 1 & 2. In the missions list (after downloading) they are both called "Oldhabits" - no number and are the same game. When highlighting each one there seems to be a mix up under mission briefing and notes. See my screenshots for possibly better explanation. The first two pics are taken from the first highlighted Oldhabits. The third and fourth are from the second highlighted Oldhabits . I'm sorry this is so jumbled together (can't do spacing or paragraphs). As I said I went in and played both missions and they are the same.As per my conversion with Obs, the original mission is now called Oldhabits 1 and the rebuilt version now Oldhabits 2.
:@Thiefette, be sure delete any copies of 'oldhabits' in your fms folder.
-
Okay thanks. Also I did what you had suggested - delete Oldhabits from FM folder and redownloaded and it comes up the same - Oldhabits 2 in FM list, Oldhabits 1 downloads in game. I think I will just delete from FM list and wait until its all sorted out. Thanks for your help Bikerdude.I have just asked Obs this very question as it less confusing to have the FMs called Oldhabits 1 and Oldhabits 2. Once I get the nod from him I will sort the FM pages and download links out.
-
Yes, apologies.
Due to some confusion on our part, the original version was on the server. I have replaced this with the latest version and replaced the old screenshots.
@Thiefette, please delete your old "oldhabits" folder from your FMS folder and re-download.
Thanks, will do. Are both missions going to be available now as they are both so different and so good?

Thanks Grayman, gave it another try (since it only happened the once) without uninstalling Gatehouse and it worked. So congrats on the new mission, its installed now so will write more when I finish.
