What are the Vertex options? Have you changed them to test their effect?
yes
I went through that whole list - then went online and cursed the fact that my NEWER MODEL chip, didn't give me access to the openGL menu the old ones have! >
-
Ah, so you do have the OpenGL tweaking screen!
We can look at that a bit more, but for now...
You should have more than 2 cfgs; 1 in each folder for each mission you have installed; you must have installed at least 1 to make that video, eh? ...anyway attach now the 2 cfgs you speak of, if you will.
I don't have one... and just realized I forgot to hit the attach button.
it won't let me attach cfg files for some stupid reason or another...
-
Take and post a screenshot of what comes up when you go to
Start » Control Panel » Personalization (or Appearance and Personalization » Personalization) » Display Settings » Advanced Settings » Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver tab » Graphics Properties... » 3D Settings
please.
Also how many DoomConfig.cfg files do you have? And where are they?
Attached is a picture of my 3D graphics interface. The problem still persists when I put textures to Performance, AND it makes everything unreadable text wise.
I have 2 doom CFG files, the one in base, and the one under darkmod.

OFFS. This has gotten crazy...
Start » Control Panel » Personalization (or Appearance and Personalization » Personalization) » Display Settings » Advanced Settings » Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver tab » Graphics Properties... » 3D Settings
You've been in there and tried things (and then, upon, not getting results... set them back to defaults)?
You've re-downloaded the latest TDM (wipe whatever mess you have out, all TDM DoomConfig.cfgs and autoexecs and every other thing TDM related)?
And you've got no other mods installed?
Yes.
I'll just hope with the next iterations that something changes to fix my problem whatever it is - I've done everything I can from my end with all the information I've found/been given. The one thing I think could help would be if I actually had the ability to change OpenGL settings for my graphics card, but I don't have that option with mine (though other intel chips do have an interface for that, mine does not).
-
One last cvar:
Change image_usenormalcompression to 0
(Intel GMA has been know to have problems with this...)
already been set to 0 the whole time...
-
still doesn't work.
Like I said, I'll just wait for the next update and see if that does it.
-
Is this where you downloaded your drivers from?
...also
Have you tried disabling Aero or Explorer before launching TDM?
Disabling aero I can do, but what do you mean by disabling explorer? o.O
and yes, I have the latest graphics driver for my card.
-
Tried what you said... didn't work >_> I don't have an opengl panel unfortunately with my software... I've just given up until the next udate though I'm pretty sure my issue is too isolated for it to be fixed.
-
if you could tell me how to use the original interaction vfp I'd try that and let you know?
Same thing with changing the open GL settings.

This was (?) one of the more interesting problems (and I'm sure most irritating for Hypevosa!)...
Any news?
Nothing... I really really want to play TDM too, but I can't do anything.
I've said before the only real clue is that the things that are super imposed over what's rendered in the game (the readables, the little hints, etc) are unaffected, and it's not a glitch I get playing doom 3. So it's specifically something in the code of TDM itself that's clashing with my videocard.
-
no, my board isn't MxM and there's no way to change the graphics card. My only salvation is in the software end.
This all said, is there any way for me to try V 1.1 to see if that one still works?
-
Generally, yes, but you could try to find out if your gc resides on a MXM module. There are rare cases where a gc in a laptop can be swapped.
and how would I find this out? Do I have to call customer support or what?
-
I'm on a laptop, so I don't have any means of getting a better card, do I? I thought these were still built too tight to swap out videocards - I'd lose all the side ports and whatnot.
-
DAMNIT.
I had a feeling it wouldn't run... but I disabled the card and tried anyways. It won't run now because of alot of things, I'll enable my graphics card again...
-
I've been trying to play with it, but really it's no dice, where it really messes with your head is when you're attempting to make a shot with an arrow.
Is there any kind of environment I can run TDM in, or some monitoring program, or something, that would allow me to see what on earth is telling the game to warp out like this? Is there a list of things that are TDM specific regarding POV and angling or anything like that that might be switching back and forth for some reason?
I've been looking forward to being able to finally play TDM for a long, long time. I'm willing to do just about anything, and have since tried messing with my resolution and the game's, and even tried turning off one processor (though I was sure that wouldn't do anything).
If I uninstall the driver for my graphics card... I'd still be able to reinstall it back when I wanted to right? I'm thinking of trying this but want to be sure it won't be irreversible.

I'm glad you agree with me
you'd just need to make sure that the restart button was only available while they weren't in a mission, or maybe if you could make it quicksave their mission under a different file or something. Either way, that would be the only issue would be people doing it during missions.

finally got the movie to upload, full size, and full of warpy wobbles.

Remember, the readables are unaffected though the world around them still does it, and this doesn't happen at all in the doom 3 game, which means it's something specifically occurring with TDM code.
-
I thought the original poster meant "restart TDM" not "restart this mission"
Both can be done by "Quit" followed by a manual restart (resp. "quit mission", then "new mission", or am I wrong?
yeah, you quit the game and exit, then go start the game again to have graphics settings change. I'm not talking about restarting a mission, but TDM so that the graphics settings will switch over if you've changed them
As I said, it is only an issue of slight convenience, but since I'm having a major graphical issue right now with the world itself warping and whatnot, and I went through those settings with all the configs I could a few dozen times, having to quit mission, then quit, then find my icon for TDM again... after 2 dozen times I really wished that I could just press one button to get it to restart so I could try the next set of graphical settings.
-
I'm willing to go through the config file and try messing with stuff - if someone can point me to the most likely variables to cause a problem like this.
-
only TDM suffers from this problem. I thought that was weird too...
-
if it wasn't so unnerving, yeah... it could be a fun mechanic for a maw of chaos level or something.
It happens on all FMs, it was kinda psychadelic seeing it happen to the NMH one with that opening to the level getting all distorted....
anyways I have a video now, I'll upload it to my photobucket and let you know when it's there. Its only like 20 seconds and it's a 50 mb video... stupid hypercam...
Does anyone have a better ap for recording video on your pc?
-
I think a good clue probably lies in the fact that the world is effected, but the hud and the text pop up readables are unaffected by it. I don't really know what to do about that though.

Forgot to say the top one (the larger) is the TDM file, and the other is the base one for Doom 3
