  1. I just finished the mission (on the highest difficulty, about 600 short of max loot) and I don't even know where to start listing all the elements that were so amazingly well done! It's all just jaw-droppingly good. The only category where I docked one point was the Halloween element, since it didn't really give me a Halloween vibe per se, although it was generally pretty creepy.

Beautiful architecture, great scripted events, just all around hugely fun. Thank you for this gem!

  2. I can't get these missions to show up in the Available Missions list, even though I'm pretty sure there's no problem with the files. I downloaded the 144 meg Zip, unpacked it with no errors, put the files in the fms folder, and still nothing. The only thing that happens is that the game keeps saying "New missions available" every time I enter the New mission screen, and also every time I click Refresh List, but the 3 missions just aren't there.

I looked at the FAQ, checked out all the questions/responses I could find that people posted on similar issues, but none of the stuff I found applies to me. Is there anything else I can do here? My system is Win 7 64 bit, and everything else has worked perfectly with DM so far. thanks

Edit: well, now it looks like no matter what mission I put in the fms folder, it won't show up in the list, so this is a global problem and now I really have no clue what's happening. Sorry about bringing a technical issue in here, please ignore.

E#2: solution found: clear the Read-only attribute from the entire fms folder.

  3. Super extra double-secret extreme spoilage extravaganza!

Thanks, in the meantime I already found it and finished the mission! Actually I had been looking

behind the sarcophagi, it's just that the switch was exactly behind

the one that the guard of the scepter was standing in front of (I had lured it out into the central area beforehand).

Very nice mission! I enjoyed it so much that I didn't even mind all the arachnid wildlife and the undead hordes too much, even though normally those things tend to annoy the hell out of me.

  4. I know this thread sort of has run its (initial) course, but I just found and completed this mission. From the moment I got out in the open and saw the insane contraption and the swaying scenery, I was giggling and howling with utter giddiness. It's absolute genius, and I want to play a whole 16-hour campaign exclusively consisting of missions like this. I'm totally serious, I loved it that much. I don't care if it's not sneaky and thiefy, and I'm an (armchair) adrenaline junkie anyway, so this is perfect for me.

    Anyway, a question:

some of you mentioned using one or two ropes to reach the lowest platform that's jutting out beneath the whole swing, but I can't seem to figure out exactly how that works. I managed to get down to the tiny protrusion that is on the outside of one of the corners, but from there the platform is still a huge distance. I can't even begin to imagine how one more rope arrow would bring me closer... Any tips as to how to get all the way down?

Thanks. And again, thanks for the amazingly imaginative thrill ride, it's one of my all time favorite FMs now!

  5. I just got around to playing this nutty mission, and overall I enjoyed it. I completed every objective and could as well get back to the start and finish the mission – however I still have one key, a certain "fancy key" that I never found any use for. Did not see it mentioned on any forum either. I'm wondering if there is actually any lock that this key opens? Anyone else find this key?

    Edit: aaand

I found the corresponding door right beside where I found the key

    , so nevermind

    Experienced Performance

At 1600*1200 with medium (standard) graphics settings, it's playable but it is still very visibly choppy. No graphical glitches or anything like that. Tried it with each setting turned on or off one by one and in every combination, but it's always the same. And it's not an even choppiness either (the sort that you get when your specs aren't up to the task), but rather that extremely annoying stop-and-start type that I haven't been able to find the cause of. All the more odd since the base game (Doom 3) runs perfectly smooth.
