Renzatic sent this to me a day ago, and trying it, I had to share it with you guys . Ok, what it is:
It's a smartshader for DirectX 9 Video cards (only ATI) which basically adds bloom to any OpenGL game. I tested in in Doom3 and Thievery - very nice .
Here are 4 screens, comparing with and without bloom:
Start of game (no Bloom):

Once we finish the Dark Mod I'll try it then
Apparently it runs Doom3 like a dream
Gotta see it to believe it though

I've tried Linux once - one of the really old versions a long time ago - i hated it.
But the new ones look ok.

Once you've finished, I'd love to test them in-game

Have you got the editor in NOT fullscreen? (it's got problems with it)
To turn it on or off, in doomconfig.cfg, put:
r_fullscreen 0
or, make a shortcut to Doom3.exe and put this to get the editor into fullscreen automatically on start:
(path to doom3)\Doom3.exe +r_fullscreen 0 +seta com_AllowConsole 1 +editor +set sv_pure 0 +set fs_game darkmod +vid_restart

I just hope it dies completely

Ahh, you registered, thanks Tom.
-
sounds interesting, but you could do that independantly on the map if you like
-
ahh, good point.
-
Thanks .
I'd need about 2 floors, 2 (or 3) toilets, depends on you, about 2 master bedrooms for each floor, and 2 (or 3) guest rooms on each floor. If you could, please do map out the interior, and it would be good to see some tall ceilings, possibly with some chandeliers, etc. Oh yes, forgot, it would also be cool to have a kitchen, dining room (large if possible) and (if you want to bother) a basement and an attic. All in Thief style. Most importantly I thank you and it is greatly appreciated .
Kind regards,

hmm, dunno. I don't remember Hammers even having gauntlets, but I reckon that sounds ok. Though wait for more answers I think .
PS: KF, could you please draw up and send me a drawing of a small mansion (interior and exterior if possible). Please KF , I am absoultely hopeless when it comes to drawing houses.

Hows this for an idea:
How about if the player can choose between those 2 lightgems (obviously if he chooses not to have the compass) because both are quite spectacular.
-
I'm with KF on that 100%
-
I LOVE sandworms - they're cool.
BTW, in HL2 the Antlion repellers are based (and are almost identical) on the thumper in Dune (whichever one it was).

Simple answer: That scenario would NEVER happen to Garrett
Probably not, but he'd still rather be sure. I mean, would you go sailing alone on a one man raft without any insurance?

Here's an idea on how to achieve a similar thing to steam:
Instead of using software, use hardware. Basically, when you buy the game, a small usb thingy comes with the game, which you need to insert in order to "Activate" the game, or if you wanted to be a bit more strict, you could make it that it has to be in whenever you play the game. However, this would'nt work for Valve as they are sick of publishers (just as much as Bush is sick of the UN) and would rather sell the game over the internet - nowhere to return it.
Either way, my suggestion was but an idea on how to keep the gaming at least a bit fun, prevent piracy (which i do believe is justified in certain circumstances, ie: HL2) and not have to go updating steam every 5 minutes. But that would (OMG!!!!) raise the production price from $3 to $4 OMG!!! NO! WE WANT YO PAY VERY LITTLE AND MAKE SO MUCH!!!!! - F****n Valve

Well, if our thief was Garrett, noone could miss that green eye. Though Gerrett is not our thief. No matter
