  1. Oh yeah one more thing

"About the game itself, I can tell you right now: it looks really really great. First of all, from what I gathered, many issues have been taken into account and it looks the community has played a role in it since their worries are really taken seriously.

Moreover, the early echoes from real players (including fans) are extremely positive.

One last thing, if you're looking for freedom in DX3 you should not be disappointed, it will be a key element.

Concerning the news releases, you need not worry... all in due time and regularly."

  2. I negligently left my computer uncleaned for a year. So yesterday my monitor started to glitch on me, distorting the screen whilst I was playing Mass Effect. Hoping it wasn’t the monitor, I cracked open the CPU and beheld the dust bowl that caked the CPU and the vidcard. I blasted those clean using compressed air.

After cleaning it of dust thoroughly, I was surprised that not only did the processing run smoother, but the framerate was easily on avg. 5-10 fps greater.

Being less technically knowledgeable than an educated computer geek leads me to ask some general maintenance questions:

    - How often should one clean out their CPU innards?

    - Are liquid cooling systems worth the trouble? Are they dangerous should they leak (beyond the obvious water on circuits)?

    - How about getting an improved CPU fan. Is that worth the price for the performance improvements it would garner?

    - Do any of these options contribute to safely overclocking to higher degrees?

    - Are these newer, meatier CPU’s (duals & quads) and vidcards (hamburger sized PCI-E’s) attracting more dust than older models did in the past?

Depends if you have tile every 6-12 months. Carpet every 3-6 months.

I don't think Liquid Cooling is worth it because you have to keep adding water. Also the hoses tend to break etc. Plus it's nto cheap.

The bigger the fan the less noise it makes and the less dust it will create. It's only worth it if you need to cool down your CPU more.

I don't recommend overclocking anything. It just shortens the component's lifespan.

They don't necessarily attract more dust. What a good case will bring is filters so that the dust does not come inside as much. I got one on the side and at the bottom. It traps the dust and when I clean the inside it is no where near as dusty as a case that is 50$ cheaper. Plus it has LED display of HDD temp, CPU temp, and system temp.

If you want less dust a better case is the way to go and also 120mm fans which are bigger and make less noise. This is the case I have.

It's huge though. Might be able to find one a little smaller and less expensive with filters.

I would say save up then head on over to www.newegg.com and buy parts. Right now you can build a good computer for 550$ including the operating system. Talking dual core, big hard drive, 2 gigs ram etc.

The computers you are talking about are probably pre built and not good for gaming. Those video cards are old and you are way better off having a geforce 8 GT card.

  4. I'm currently playing Heroes of Might and Magic V. Great Game even though it's already old. :)

I was playing that game but I just got tired of it. Kind of repetitive but it's good if you can hang in there.

  5. Been playing some Mass Effect on the PC and it is stellar. Definite must play for anyone who likes sci fi storylines that are actually good. If you call yourself a PC gamer you should play it.

Grid is also quite good from Codemasters. Love the replay feature where you can rewind from a wreck and hit the flashback button. Japan, American, and European leagues, it's all there. Great graphics, soundtrack, and competitors plus an online mode.

Besides that I got tons of games to beat like Company of Heroes. (Just beat GTA 3 still have to tackle Vice City and San Andreas) Almost done with Tomb: Raider Legend and Splinter Cell Double Agent. Still have Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade and Tomb Raider: Anniversary to tackle.

The only other game I'm going to buy for a long time to come will be Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Set to release this fall. Already pre ordered the collector's edition so I'm guaranteed an open beta slot. Make sure to register for the European beta for those of you from that side of the world.

It's going to be an MMORPG that focuses heavily on pvp and realm versus realm. Capture your enemy cities etc. Besides that everything is good.

    How has everyone been?

  6. It is Thief 4 I have enough evidence and don't need to post it. That's what google is for. One of the developers already has a T by his face book profile which is the same T from the Thief logo.

Kotaku.com and search for the news story. Stop denying the inevitable. -.-

  7. I doubt it, since the bottom line is that they'll be taking x millions of some publishers money again, to make a game that will have to be equally generic enough for everyone to understand and enjoy it.

They don't seem to think its possible to cater to hardcore gamers wishes, keep integrity and intelligence and a level of maturity in the content AND make the game accessible and popular with to Joe Average at the same time.

There isn't a large enough hardcore audience for Deus Ex and Thief to sell well. It has to cater to a more broad audience because it needs to be profitable. The only other option would be to have a smaller studio but that is not the course that has been taken.

However I am interested to see how Deus Ex 3 and Thief 4 will turn out. Something like Bioshock but with more replay value would be great.

  8. Are you talking about John Romero? That's in the past. The mistake was as I've stated placing someone in a leadership role who has shown he can't lead. In Ionstorm Austin anyway.

This is a totally new development team. It might have some of the old as well as they bring in people for Thief 4. (Also might be some vets in the Deus Ex 3 project)

Anyway we're getting out of topic. Long live Deus Ex and Thief wooot!

  9. true, it's not a confirmation, but there are only 3 eidos franchises that start with T that I can think of. They certainly aren't doing Tomb Raider, b/c that franchise is still alive and well, and I highly doubt they were refering to Time Splitters. So, I would say it's a safe bet we'll be seeing the likes of thief 4 in the next few years. only time will tell how good it will be. I have high hopes, but low expectations. PROVE MY EXPECTATIONS WRONG, EIDOS! PLEASE!

Oh they will prove you dead wrong. The question is will you be ready :D.

  10. They'll call it Thief because everyone who loves Thief will pay attention and possibly buy the game. We shall see what direction they take Thief in.

I bet they'll have more info coming summer as was stated in numerous conversations I had in the official forums. Anyway by the concept art what I had said earlier was true. This time they are loaded with talent like in Deus Ex 1 :D.
