  1. Quite the contrary, HC. I listed above how the universe shouts that there must be a wise, ordered creator. Conscience is another natural knowledge of a god that I mentioned. If you want another -- you can also recognize how sin and evil can make people, whether by rationalization or intuition, recognize that we need some sort of godly help in the world.

    Do you mean these points?

    • God exists (for there could be no creation without the Creator) <-- This is one of the assumptions Springheel was talking about
    • God is eternal (for he existed before the world)
    • God is powerful (for he made the universe by his command)
    • God is good (He cares for all his creation)
    • God is wise (seen from the intricacy of creation and creatures)

I don't quite understand the question though. Are you asking for a rationalization to believe in God? Want or need? What sort of 'reason' do you mean?

If those are the points you were talking about, than why look in the bible and declare him the cause of that? Is that because its supposed to be the revealed word of God?

What if I had a book that claimed to be the revealed word of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and it said he created everything and gave human beings a conscience to know right from wrong-- Is that an equally valid claim?

Your sociopath example touches on a different subject: one of how sin disfigured and tainted God's lost and confused masterpiece of creation -- humanity.

Is a hermit with no missionary/religious contact held just as accountable before God?

Lets say a prominent pastor suffers brain damage that inhibits his ideas about right and wrong, and his ability to feel pity or remorse. He no longer has a conscience, at least in the neurological sense, so to speak. Does this damage to his brain which he had no control over, still make him accountable?

  2. Well, God is 'the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lord, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see'. If we are to know anything about God, God must reveal himself. Thankfullly, he has already done this: in his creation. In fact, the revelation of God's existence learned from creation is so clear that the Bible tells us only a fool would deny God exists.

So you're saying the reason why we should believe God exists is because the bible says so?

We see from the law that God wrote into peoples' consciences that we are accountable to him. The conscience, a spiritual emotion, testifies to the existence of God's law in human hearts. On the basis of this law, the conscience either approves or condemned behavior. Therefore, all people have a knowledge that God exists and that they are accountable to him.

What about sociopaths-- people who don't have a conscience? Do they still have that knowledge? Are they still accountable?

  3. There shouldn't be any reason to set affinity, as far as I know. I'm running a multi core and everything works fine. The wiki should really say "disable desktop composition". This can be done from within Dark Radiant now. Click "Edit", "Preferences", and go to the compatibility option. Put a check mark in disable desktop composition. Restart DR and see if that helps.

Yes, I realize that now. I've been a bit out of the loop.

  4. Do you have a multicore CPU? (Windowskey + Pause break to see)

Than set the core affinity for DR.

    To do this:

    1. Right click taskbar, click "Task Manager", click processes

    2. Open DR, while it is loading, right click on DarkRadiant.exe and click "Set Affinity..."

    3. Unselect all cores but "CPU 0"

    See if that helps

  5. Just my opinion, but as default behaviour it seems like feature creep to me. It's not really adding much to gameplay, just creating a free, less useful gas arrow.

Gas arrows are the most expensive weapon a player can buy, which seems kind of silly if anyone could just harvest poison gas bombs for free.

Perhaps what makes the gas arrow different from a gassy shroom is the arrow contents are more concentrated or refined?

  6. You can bind some unlit fires to an NPC (like a zombie) and shoot it when a fire arrow, he'll erupt in flames, but the flames won't damage him. You could also light him with a candle. I'd bet theres some way to make that actually kill the creature, or at least cause it damage.

  7. How about if the player eats them they see colors? :P

So if I get this straight, the shrooms could be picked by a player, thrown as a gas bomb or an explosive bomb, and could detonate if the player (or AI) steps on one?

edit: Ohh, now maybe I'm getting a little carried away, what if there was a shroom arrow that made a patch kind of like a moss arrow, except it grows mushrooms that act as a land mine?

  8. I would completely clear out the TDM directory and then just run the latest updater before you decide to blow out everything (reload, FFR, etc).

(make sure that no conflicting Mods are in the Doom 3 directory as well).

Just to clarify, I was saying to copy the DevIL.dll from TD to TDM then delete TD.

I understood what you were saying. I deleted TD along with all the other FM mod folders that were created.

I'm gonna try backing up my maps and deleting it than reupdating. Thanks for the help
