  1. I tried running the map but D3 crashed while loading. You don't have any AI using custom heads by chance, do you?

     

    I don't think so. Did you see any errors while dmap was running?

    * Should be easier to find the plate now

    * Note for second objective: Gas arrows don't kill opponents

  2. Well well, this in a cool and interesting development. How should we handle this? Publicly announce a new "mini-map" that works with Thief's Den? Should I host the mission at Shadowdark as a "new mission"? At the very least I think it should wait for the updated performance version, smaller candle lights, visportals in the doorways, and anything else.

    You have to delete "closemouthed_shadows_01.xd" when you tried version 01 earlier. Otherwise the updated text is not visible in the mission.

  3. Be careful with your lighting though, all your candles are super bright. It also appears that you need a very low level ambient to remove the pitch blackness. Lighting your level in dark mod will take some practice, but the first thing you should do is to put an ambient_nofall...or ambientnfo, can't remember what it's named...around your entire level. Adjust it so that it's just enough to not affect the light gem, and to make the shadows not appear pitch black. Adjust the rest of your lighting from there. It will give you much more realistic looking lighting. :)

     

    You are right i just saw how big the candel light radius is. The map has an ambientnfo. This shouldn't be the problem, should it? Do you think it will be enough to lower the candel light radius? Which radius is good?

     

    I've got another question. I want the door to open to the other side. In the same room but to the wall an not in the room. How can I manage that? I tried the mirror function but it didn't work.

    But don't expect too much :D. It's a very very short mission which will be extended. The last time i really made maps (just a lilttle trying around with radiant for Doom 3) was Half-Life 1 times ;). And darkradiant is way different from worldcraft. But your wiki is very good!

    I created a new map which you can play with the Thiefs Den Demo.

     

    It's very short and simpel but i'll extend it by time.

     

    Plot (for now):

    "I've heared that Adney Schellden a guy who works for the rich Lord Julian brought a message to Dougal. Dougal is a thief, of course he is not half as good as me. But he is a thief so I'm sure there is something in this message which could be interesting for me, too. We'll see."

    To play extract the .zip file and copy the content to your tiefs_den folder.

    Start Thiefs Den and open the console.

    Type in: dmap closemouthed_shadows_01.map

    Wait.

    Open the console again and type in: map closemouthed_shadows_01

    Have fun!

     

    To view your objectives press ESC ingame and click on Objectives in the menu.
