Is this exactly what the file contains or did you just copy parts of it? Because that's an incomplete material definition.
nope its the full, i copied a mtr that i found somewere and just changed names here n there, im to lazy with the complicated text (code?) its rlly confusing

For me that's usually a path error. Perhaps the console gave you an error message (couldn't find ...). If so check the paths and make sure they are set right in the material file. Or maybe a typo in the material file? The console should tell you something about that too.

I was bored and decided to try to make a texture problem is i dont know much about it but the wiki was very helpfull and helped me out alot.
so i finished a small one the size is : w:1024 h:512
it looks like this in the DR : (paint blurred the pic a bit)
and in game its all balck
so i aplied another texture to one of the brushes, and then i get a leak.
its really weird.
any help would be much appreciated

i may be wrong but i have had way better luck with the doom3edit than the thief3 editor...i think it is more stable or something about the order things are rendered is better in doom edit)
may be my vid card being a radeon I have heard many others like me having trouble with the thief3 editor totally locking up a computer (requiring cold boot) just after doing a subtraction.
I did notice a great difference in the amount of LOCKUPS i go thru a day if I am careful to turn AI all the way up in catalyst and if I build al as per settings before i try and subtract ...like when I move some solid or delete it then try to subtract from it ...just as soon as I press the subtract icon the entire computer crashes and I have to cold boot ...when I get window back up I get a message about how the system has recovered from a error blah blah blah...
so anyway for me thief 3 edit is going to be useless if it continues to act up i am going to get rid of thief and just use DOOMEDIT (dark mod )
point being i like to make castle and medieval type setting or even Victorian settings but I don't like to make space-age mars metallic starship stuff...note my handle Medieval...Radley... I can't get inspired to create using textures like that doom has. Don't get me wrong I do like the doom game its pretty good too.
I need earthenware and trees and grass and "you want to go to the bear pits tomorrow …there's gunna be a real eye gougen… stuff like that stuff like uh oh I think …uh argh her comes another fit djfoaisd kljfojrofhasjlkfhajkdlfh…

Don't feel too bad. I've had to abandon some projects before, and so have others. Its a way of learning the hard way, but you'll become a better mapper through it

im ashamed 2 say ill give up (atm) with the map.
i have no clue how to do this kind of thing but im gonna make something else and hopefully this time it will work, i think it will since ive learnt my mistake.
so every new section i make needs to be tested
ill save the map since i might fix it in the future or copy and paste stuff from the map
ive already started something new.
after i have played lots of those hl1 horror mods i found inspiration and im starting with a horror map =D
edit: lots of theese horror maps usually needs custom scripts.
im a big forum parasite when it comes to scripting so anyone knows where i can get help with the d3 scripting?

yaay it is finaly finish in the end it speeded up to 100 kbs so it went faster than i thought it would
so i can get to fix with the tempname map :/

Quick question my ai get stuck on the market stalls when chasing me, any idea what I could do to maybe make them a bit smarter? or will I have to redraw my market-square plans? =(
The guards chasing me do not have a patrol as of yet, but if they did would that even help?
trying covering the market stalls with monsterbrush =)

just rmb on the folder tortoise svn->clean up. If it doesn't clean up then check in the hidden folders (each folder in darkmod has a hidden folder .svn) if there are any lock files in there delete them and try to clean up again.

hey i dunno were to ask this so i hope theres no problem asking here
the svn tortoise freezed so i canceled this and i cant find the svn > cleanup button and i dont really feel like waiting 2 more days
any ideas what i could do, meanwhile i can try to fix my map
