I managed to get it to work by holding down control while also holding down shift to select the surface. Didn't read the instructions correctly, it seems.

Is there a way to prevent the mousewheel scroll from moving the camera forwards and backwards in camera view? I've installed Windows on my Mac, but the Apple Mouse is very sensitive and to make matters worse has inertial scrolling, so it's very annoying when working in DarkRadiant.
Also, I'm currently on page 2 of Fidcal's A-Z guide, but I can't get the copy shader function to work (in "New Rooms: Extending the Mission"). I select a single wall, but it says: "Can't copy Shader. Please select a single face or patch." Normal copying does work, but then it doesn't place the texture on the new room. Can you help?

Alright, thanks. Guess I missed more than I thought.

Hrrrm, I didn't manage to find Warden Fielder's journal then, though I did ransack his room. Where can I find it?

Finished this one as well. Fantastic mission. I was expecting the Cleighmoor mansion to be easy like the City Watch station in WS2, but it was very tense a lot of the time. Storytelling was great, though I found it a bit weird that like 3 objectives were completed at the same time because they were all in the evidence room.
I have a question: is there any other way to leave than going back through the sewers? That's what I did, but I looked for an easier way out first, but couldn't find one.

Fantastic mission. I thought I'd done a decent amount of exploration (as part of my regular playstyle) and got at least 3/4rds of the loot. Turns out I barely got over half, so I will be revisiting this one for sure! I will echo TheUnbeholden's statement that the Watch HQ gameplay was kind of underwhelming. There are only 3-4 NPCs in the whole building, and it's quite sizable.

For me at least, the PlayOnMac method does not work since the framerate is consistenly less than 10 fps. But my mac is late 2009, so quite old already. In fact, it turns 5 years old this month.

STiFU, Wizd3m covered this in the first episode of his Styx let's play. You need to walk towards the edge (use the walk button).

A very cool.
I agree, it's an awesome.

I finished my first playthrough of Dishonored in a single day. Got home with the game at 14:00, was done playing by midnight.
Fantastic game.

"In my humble opinion"

I would be interested in thinking about and optimizing this visportal algorithm of yours, might be fun. However, I'm not sure what you mean by the letters B, G, F, etc. in your description of the Visportalling algorithm. I also wasn't able to find it with a cursory search on swift-mazes.com Can you explain?
Also, clicking on http://swift-mazes.com/media/auto_visportaling_2014-10-03.gif gives a 403 forbidden error.

Is that really computationally expensive?
The problem is not checking whether the AI can see the player, I think. It's keeping track of 20 points. This can be reduced by just keeping track of one point (the players center) and then infer the location of the chosen point from that and the player status (crouched, leaning, etc.) before checking whether or not the AI can see it, but it's still an extra calculation.

They're 3 full levels each. How long they take depends on your playstyle.

Why didn't you link the actual article?

Sotha, the feel and goals of Assassin's Creed are completely different. In AC you're in a big city with a lot of people who are neutral towards you, and guards who are only sometimes hostile towards you, rather than no neutral factions and always hostile guards. The focus in AC is on killing and freerunning rather than sneaking. Styx certainly shares some features, but generally it's not like Assassin's Creed at all.
-
Honestly, I think this doesn't look like AC in the slightest.

Dishonored is fucking amazing. If you haven't played it, you really should. The pace can be a lot faster if you wish it to be, because of blink. The Daud DLCs (Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches) are great as well. If you get the base game, get those as well. And probably Dunwall trial's Thief challenge would be good fun for most as well. I like Bonfires a whole lot in that DLC.

One doesn't get into the town. It's quite different from most other missions.

Dang this looks like a really good game!

The problem with this for me at least is that it's very slow. The framerate is simply too low to play. That might be OS X Mavericks being the shitty OS that it is, and my computer being 5 years old, but it is an issue.
-
So you voted for it then?!
It'S funny because it's true
I voted for it, because I didn't feel strongly either way.
-
Ferret's stats were objectively better than yours, Jon. So I'd wager that "Very Organized Thief" > "Master Thief".
-
Seriously ?
Is that what we're calling it ?
I feel so much better hitting the save button now I know some people think I'm a savescummer
Oh no, people on the internet might call you out for being a dirty savescummer! Obviously that means you're a worthless human being!
Fuck that noise. Play like you want to and own it. Personally I'm a fan of the "I wanna be hardcore and not savescum but then end up doing it anyway, and maybe I'll noclip too"-playstyle. And I don't give a rat's ass about what anyone thinks about that. I'm having fun and the rest can go fuck themselves.

Can someone answer my question about the mousewheel? Is it possible to disable the mousewheel from doing anything in DarkRadiant? I've looked through the preferences, but there are no options, and keyboard shortcuts are restricted to keyboard only. It would be a huge help, because currently I'm spending about 50% of the time on undoing stupid shit caused by the mousewheel.
