    This may have been asked already, but where are the female Ai.. I kind need some for my mission..

     

     

    I would need a few female Ai too... I want to build a city and a convent....

     

    but I think you are still low on female voices right?

  2. So, how many christmas FMs are still in the works? Melan is working on one and Bikerdude right? Any others?

     

    I just thought, for the time DM 1.0 is out, there are quite a nice amount of FMs ready. What would you say how many there will be in like... a year? After the christmas contest, the counter will slow down, we have now 10, if SL and TD1 getting updated - 12. So i think it will be around 25-28 @ 2011 (well i hope that it will be more ;) ).

  3. Two things:

     

    - the elevator sound system is totally broken. The moving platform sound is looping infinite times when you start to play with the buttons...

     

     

    yeah, to bad i could not find a 100% way to get it working

     

     

    - the lamp texture is bright even if the lamp itself is off. It destroys atmosphere :(

     

    But I think its the engine flaw :(.

     

     

    after the map was build to 95%, I did think of making two lamps, one with light texture and one without. Making a mover_slider out of both and set the move time to 0,1 so they change place. but I did not have the time to check it out.

    There is a lever in the ballroom near the chair the general often sits in. It controls the ceiling of the room. I guess it leads to some loot... Am I right? Maybe there is a rope arrow somewhere in the mission?

    No there is nothing up there, but good guess, i did think of placing some loot there but in the end i did not.

     

     

     

     

    "I noticed the guards with swords can throw a bottle or the like at you if they cannot reach you. I saw how one of the two alerted guards threw a bottle at the obstacle that was too close to them and hit another guard. As the result they started fighting each other. The duel was quite spectacular... After some fencing the guards who lose started running away :D But eventually he was caught and executed."

  5. well I think the FMs should just be stickie d or the other topics moved. Seriously, why is a topic like "Sunbelt firewall i causing FM not to load" in the fanmissions page? I still think it would be the best way to make a page like "I need help" or something like that, why using the search functionality if you can find it right away too? :)

    Well i am a huge fan of Myst and the old Tomb Raider series so you will always see things like that in my maps. Maybe even bigger in the next map? lets see

    Sorry i thought: Its good playable on my old geforce 7600gs so it should be playable for everyone else too. I will consider this for my next map.

    btw, i would never think that my master would steal something from my map :)

  7. Secret:

    No, the secret under the small stairs is revealed by a book next to the bed of the sleeper. I am talking about the one above the stairway to the 2nd floor, where you have to jump-mantle to.

     

     

    About the optional objective, I played on difficult the first time and I didn't notice any new objective. Hmn... How is it triggered? Maybe it was broken due to all the bugged AI... :D

     

     

     

    in that room was actually loot, after rethinking i placed funny things like firearrows in it. While beta testing i was changed back to loot. Well you cant satisfy everyone.... ;)

     

     

    yeah the objective was broken for sure^^ but you could try again searching at the

     

    generals tabel, maybe you will find a (cliché) button

     

  8. I played it again today, but on medium instead of difficult. The AI didn't get stuck in doors this time, blocking my way through the mansion, so it was a lot easier... ;) I got all the loot now, but it was really hard to find. I only missed two secret places, one of them not being mentioned anywhere (I think). A little hint or at least some background information, why that loot was hidden there would've been nice, since that place is nearly invisible on lower gamma-settings in combination with an LCD display that suffers from bad contrast in dark places.

     

    Anyway, I discovered a couple of smaller issues. The first of them might need fixing by the Dark Mod team itself:

    1. The Vent
      by which you enter the mansion is so low, that the lantern appears to stick out of it at the top. The place is only lit up for brief moments although the lightgem is fullbright all the time. I assume this behavior is caused by the height of the lantern being linked to headbob. I guess this should be adjusted so that the player can light up any place he is capable of traveling through.
    2. I noticed some awkward effects on a tray. It seems like you wanted to fake a reflection or something, but it looks rather weird. Check out this screenshot.
    3. There are also a few other modeling and texturing issues, but I guess this is not the place to mention them. If you want, I can PM them to you though... You can also lean through a wall at one point of the map, looking into the blackness of the void.

    These issues didn't decrease the fun I had with this FM in any way though. I have never been that immersed in TDM until now. Congrats again and thanks!! :)

     

    Greebo, what optional objective? Is there a secret bonus objective? I just checked the objectives on every difficulty and there is nothing listed to be optional.

    edit: those guards only get stuck sometimes thats why i could not really find out how to solve it.

  9. klingt recht nach einem bug, hast du das problem schon immer auf der map? versuchst du mehrere brushes gleichzeitig zu drehen?

     

    edit: hast du den brush irgendwie bearbeitet bevor du es versuchst zu drehen?

    Also von der höhe her orientiert sich der neue brush bei dem den du als letztes erschaffen oder ausgewählt hast.

    wie versuchst du die brushes zu drehen? mit "R" und ziehen oder mit "free model rotation" oder vielleicht roate and scale?

    ziehst du die brushes im top few? hast du es schon mit "Alt+Pfeiltasten" probiert?

     

     

    Ich bin auch kein meister in engisch, vielleicht kommen wir besser zusammen wenn du es mir auf deutsch erzählst^^

  11. I should of phrased it differently, sorry. I'm not taking anything from it, just looking at it to see how it was done. You read or asked someone how to do it, I'm looking at it already done. If we can't look into other peoples maps then we're going to be moving a lot slower in our map building. It's easier to see how something was done in the editor than to read about it, especially as it's all vanilla TDM.

    everything is fine by me :). My post was meant to be a joke , sorry I am doing still a bit hard with writing english.

     

    BTW: You should make a thread over at TTLG so that others can play this great map and see what TDM is able to do.

     

     

    Hmm... I could not find a page for DM. I will look it up again later but i want to know first, what other players think.

     

     

     

    Edit: btw, I can vote for myself too, can anyone tell me how to skip this so I can see the results right away? I don't really want to vote for myself :laugh:

  12. So, here is the first map (Great Christmas Contest) I have ever created. It was not easy but I had fun making it.

     

    About: You have to break into a mansion and find the "special delivery"

     

    Buildtime: less then 2 months

    Small changes, mostly to make it 1.07 compatible. If you have played it already you wont see anything new.
