  1. Hi Alaris! While this isn't my department (it's Springheel's!), I know there are some unreleased AI models that still need skinning, and we can always use more and better animations, for existing and future characters alike. We might have enough hands already though, I'm not sure. Springheel?


    Getting involved in mapping would be a fine idea, and there's definitely nothing stopping you/others from putting together a campaign, except for the usual caveats about starting small and not getting ahead of yourself. :)


    haha I always get ahead of myself! I can't even begin to imagine what the team is feeling after 5 years--I certainly wasn't trying to suggest the team hop straight into making a fully fledged campaing, but I will definitely see if I can drum up some interest from newer sources.

  2. I have only just discovered this mod, and I can't remember the last time I was this excited about any mod or game for that matter. I already have a few suggestions / questions for the mod, but I thought I would introduce myself first. I am obviously a huge Thief series fan. Thief 1 and parts of 2 were the best (minus the robots), and Thief 3 was a bit of a let down. The Dark Mod really seems to capture the next iteration of Thief that I was longing for in Thief 3.


    I have exprience in the following:


    3D modeling (milkshape 3D, a little 3DS Max & Maya)



    Light animation

    Mapmaking (Duke Nukem 3D, Half-Life, Counter-Strike Source)

    Weapons Mods (Max Payne, Jedi Outcast / Academy)

    Player Model replacement - Counter Strike 1.6

    Admittedly, I haven't done a thing related to modding or map making in a few years, but this is the type of project for which I would gladly get my hands dirty again. I have looked through the forums a bit, and I see that my list of skills may not be needed. That's ok, but I am also willing to learn something new if someone doesn't mind teaching.


    From what I have read on the FAQ, it appears the Dark Mod will be providing the tools for others to make their own custom missions. Are there plans yet for a cohesive grouping of missions that would maintain some sort of over-arching campaign plot? If not, I would love to at the very least help contribute somehow to a complete set of missions with an over-arching plot full of twists and turns, with thief-like cutscenes. I realize the challenges such an endeavor would entail at the very least from an intellectual property standpoint (Who's Garrett? The voice-over guy just sounds like him and only refers to himself as me myself and I :P )


    Anyway, I tend to be a bit too wordy in forum introductions and my intros also seem to have a gnack for generating oppositional responses, so I hope that isn't the case here. I am just very excited about discovering this mod and would love to see a cohesive set of missions appear and possibly be a part of it.

  3. Hey I'm brand new to the mod - just played through the tutorial and am currently trying out the user created maps in the downloads section. Is there a way to enable cheats? Like more than just noclip & god mode (i.e. all weapons / gadgets etc.) - I am very curious to tinker around as I have done some mod making, 3D modeling, and map making in the past, and I am a HUGE fan of the thief series. This mod is beautiful and brings back a special gameplay experience that has been missing for years! Great work!
