  1. Well, there is another way of avoiding this: Don´t insert fake doors and build rooms behind them instead Okay, I know, that would be a damn lot of work. So, being not frobable is a valid way around. It is a little late, but you could have inserted a special standard sound in TDM, that indicates a non-openable door. Like a very short "click" when you "frob" the door. In the game "Prey", there is such a sound. If you hear that, you just walk away and try the next, because you definitely know, that there will be no key or mechanism that will open this door.
  2. yeah, I am just reading this right now and wanted to edit my post so no one sees it - but you quoted it first. Damn Okay, I was wrong, sorry FAQ FTW! So maybe I can be proud of pulling him so far?
  3. My savegames are also in the range of 20 to 30 MB. And it loads very fast - less than 10 seconds I guess. I have 2GB of RAM. One thing I forgot:
  4. Hi there, I just finished the map and I liked it. Time was 1 hour and 20 Minutes at "hard" (never tried the other difficulties). What I liked: - Especially the atmosphere in the ending, - Lots of readables, that also deepen the story. - Detailed work, e.g. in Sorens lab. Really liked that. What I didn´t like: - Lots of items that can´t be used. - At the very last place, - So many electrical lamps, that cannot be turned off. I feel forced by that. Don´t use them so often! - The use of - The architecture on the streets. It felt a little squeezed, like you had not enough space to build the map. Also, the houses have different architecture styles, which is not that probable in a medieval city. You try to create the illusion that this is a part of a larger city, but I did not feel that way. Instead, I kept wondering how I can open those gates - Mentioned by others: The wall Maybe all that sounds a little negative, but I really liked playing the map. It is challenging, in many places detailed. I can´t imagine how much work you put in there, but I guess a lot. Thank you for making it and keep up making such missions, I will be looking for them! There is one thing I like to add about the ending: cheers, kaldor
  5. Unbelievable! This was exactly the firewall I was using. I replaced it with 'comodo firewall' and now everything runs smoothly. Maybe this firewall issue is rare, but could find its way into the FAQ? Anyways, thank you a lot! The mod is really fun and looks great!
  6. Thanks for the hint, but it didn´t work. I will reinstall Doom3 and TDM tomorrow and then try again, although I already did that today. But this time, I will use completely different folders. Maybe that will work.
  7. Hi, thanks for the fast answer. Although that creating a new config worked (video settings were 800x600 then), the error stays the same and I still cannot load the missions.
  8. Hi everyone! Everytime I start a FM (tested all of the website), I can flawlessly read the objectives and buy things, then click on "start misson". But after it reached 100% I am thrown back to the main menu, or, in case of the training mission, to the objectives screen. I can do this endlessly. In the console are a lot of warnings, such as: WARNING: Door XY not within valid AAS area. At the end it says: ERROR: Failed to open \\.\pipe\dm_renderpipe and ERROR: idRenderSystemLocal::uncrop currentcrop <1 I use WinXP (all patches), latest DirectX, latest videodriver (8800GTS) and I have 2 Gig of RAM. Doom3 Ver 1.3.1.1304 (game runs good). Darkmod was downloaded and copied into c:\games\doom3\darkmod with the update running. pk4-files were not extracted and are still named pk4. I am starting with tdmlauncher.exe and tried to change image_Compression as it says in the FAQ, but it did not help. Seems to be a folder-issue, but I have no idea how to solve it. Any ideas? Thank you in advance, I am really looking forward to play this great mod! //Edit: I forgot: Darkmod was downloaded with torrent. Maybe the configs are from someone´s computer. How could I find out / change that?
