  1. I seem to have come to a dead end. I

read the ' mysterious' note in the basement and followed the green footprints to the upstairs landing containing the locked door. I went through the door containing a chest which up high plus paintings on the far side next to the room with the uneaten meal. Have come to a dead end and would appreciate help on where to go next.Should I drink the holy potion in my inventory now?

    Thanks!

  2. Thank you so much M & B , very enjoyable.

I finished it on easy as is about my usual standard , I'm not much good at these missions sad to say.

Never did find and get too the fabled Cinders End to loot the place , managed to grab the barest minimum loot before I had to do that.

I did have a go , using the compass , but lost my way and kept on going round and round in boring circles!

Can I ask , are they anywhere near the Almsmaster's place?

Some sort of clue would be helpful for when I try again.I'm afraid most of you are streets ahead of me in all this if I may make a pun!

    ?

  3. Lovely mission , beautiful mansion.

I felt the ending was a little too easy ,and with my pathetic skill level that's saying something! But then ,I killed you know what early on which changes the story line seemingly reading previous posts.(Forgive me , I can't seem to do spoilers with this tablet so can't give any more details regarding this.)

Thank you , I really did enjoy this and will try it again later with the (seemingly ) game changing option.

  4. Thank you Goldwell , very enjoyable. I liked

the other thief appearing on the top floor.Fortunately , I'd already got what he wanted. to allow me to get through the door. And the way you could get to other properties from the gardens on the top floor. Also , the homage to Thief Gold with the railway lines , walking dead and mines ( what was it called Clegscleft Prison or something , I forget now after all this time .) Look forward to the train ride!!

I know I'm hopeless at these missions sadly , but couldn't for the life of me

get through the final door without ' no
clipping'. I tried every combination of those Rubik cubes/ squares ! ( or I thought I did , obviously not! )

But , as I said , I really really enjoyed it once I got going. Look forward to the next episode. :D

  5. Great stuff , really enjoying it now I've got into it. Getting crashes as I said before , must be my computer I guess. Just having to make more saves than usual!

    I'm at

The final stage ( abandoned town?) part of the mission. What a surprise , thought it was all over when I passed through the gates into the sewers. I'm missing the key for the old rusty door with the note on it saying don't pick it. Can someone give a clue?

    Many thanks!

  6. Thanks Goldwell for your help and understanding ,

I really appreciate it , not making excuses , but at 73 I'm missing more than I used to.
It's happening with my chess play too , I used to be a tournament player , now I'm missing the blinking obvious in things due to increased medication for a dicky heart! All I saw in that safe was the bag of money! When I'm less tired I'll resume , in better spirits than before I hope! I love playing all versions of Thief and am loathe to give up !

  7.

Whatever you do, it sounds like you should get some rest ;)

Sorry to be arsy Goldwell , it's me I know , sometimes

I wonder if I'm playing a completely different mission to everybody else. Are we supposed to jump through that open window to find the elevator? Can't repair it until I find it and there's nothing behind that door with the note apart from blanked doors and someone with a sword who attacks me when I go in there. Oh , and the vent on high in the cupboard room , been down there and pinched everything in sight.Maybe I should try that again because I maybe missed the lift there

  8. Thanks Oldjim , don't know how I missed the obvious , I'll put it down to age ! i may have to leave this for a while , still

getting somewhere now. Climbed to the top of the stone tower after opening a gate expecting to find the main objective at the top and all I got out of it was three fire arrows! Was my journey really necessary I thought ?! Are they of use after or just a loose end to be used on the odd guard? Maybe as usual I'm off on the wrong track.

    Nice scenery though!
