  2. I would love to see more challenge with the AI. Most specifically more options to the hearing values in the difficulty settings. Like at hardest hearing setting the AI will notice if the player is moving the mouse too abruptly to look around at close range while in shadows and also hearing lock picking from a particular distance. Long ago I suggested the concept of the player making a soft coin in bag sound when moving the mouse abruptly. Similar to Alien Isolation.

  3. It makes perfect sense the AI to stay knocked out during the whole Mission. Missions are supposed to be completed before dawn in most cases so just a couple of hours. I do like the concept Judith presented from Dishonored. Having AI wake knocked down enemies forces the player to hide the bodies and be more aware of where the AI is going.

  4. I finished Hitman 2016 some time ago, didn't buy Hitman 2 yet. The game does a few things great, but it's mostly about maintaining its illusion. That feeling of infiltrating some gated, rich, and corrupt society, this is awesome and fun. But that illusion shatters very quickly, when you do something the game doesn't want you to do. That's basically a thing that goes back to origin of the series. It was never good "reactive" simulation, like immersive sims try to be. Hence the Opportunities system, aka "Look how many preset situations we've designed for you to enjoy!" ;)

Like you stand behind the AI in front of a mirror and the AI doesn't notice the player moving around behind them. That was a letdown for me in Hitman 2016.

  5. New Obsidian RPG in 3D!

They recently got bought by Microsoft Game Studios, alongside InXile, so, i guess that's the first offspring of that marriage.

Obsidian released a Turn Based Mode in the New Patch for Pillars of Eternity 2. Pretty smart move imo. I purchased the game and looks Stunning. I never finished the first one because of Real Time fights which are to chaotic for my taste. I really wish they do the same for the first one and hope to see something similar for Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition. ^_^ This sort of solves the issue I had with the first one that made me feel the dungeons were too small. Turn based gameplay forces the player to spend more time in Dungeons and sort of compensate for it. Everything feels more balanced in this one.

  6. Lock the Topic? Ewww. Under what premise? Arrogance? I find it marginal and distasteful. The Topic will die eventually anyway. Bikerdude is a liked member here (At least by me) so the news of him getting banned is already pretty severe. Logically it will create reactions. Let it flow. Locking the thread will create an undesired sense of despotism in the Forum. No like.

  7. I also hope to see more Graphic options in the future. The more the better like RE 2 Remake. So many options to tweak in that game it's a bit overwhelming at first.

I'm Shook with the performance boost with 2.07. It would be interesting to see a side comparison between this version and the first ones, fps count included.

  8. Is that depth of field effect for screenshots only? Because I don't understand why you would want it during gameplay.

It can be used in game play like Syrim and can be tweaked to be much less intrusive too. So it's a matter of personal taste. That's the best part of the New Reshade. You can experiment and tweak as much as you want and every single effect can be restored to default independently. And yes for cut scenes as well as many other effects like Chromatic Aberration, kaleidoscope etc. For some reason the DOF makes TDM Look like a Toy World and I love it. :P

Eye Adaptation works pretty well also which is something I was hoping for in TDM for a long time. I tweaked it so the effect takes longer and also toned it down by a big margin so it's more subtle. At this point my game looks totally different than original. It really shows this game can go much further in terms of aesthetic effects and doesn't really need much to get to that point.

  9. Mission Idea: The cursed Clavichord. (This mission needs this particular asset).

    30lmpz9.jpg

    Retrieve the Clavichord:

So the basic premise of this mission is to retrieve a stolen Clavichord from a band of Sea thieves settled in a hidden cove (Or in this case what's inside). It is said the Clave has a hidden compartment with something very valuable in it. What the thieve doesn't know is this stone is cursed by evil spirits.

    Starting and ending Point:

    oj1nqw.jpg

The game play concept would be to look for clues as to how open the hidden compartment of the Clave. It would be a nice idea to have to hit particular notes in order to get it open. But it can be simplified too. Also this mission could encourage Ghosting since opening the Compartment will release evil spirits which will make hell break lose with the spirits and the thieves fighting each other while the thieve hides in the shadows.

Mission Concept Idea: The Goonies (The Organ Scene).

    Art Direction:

    142wh1i.jpg

So this Mission would require a Clavichord to be made but I think this would be a great asset as well for future FMs.

  10. Mission Idea:

The Cicciliona: Lady Ludovika of Castelgandolfus

    hqdefault.jpg

The Cicciliona: Lady Ludovika of Castelgandolfus

Lady Ludovika di Casttelgandolfus goes from City to city in a beautiful mission. To collect goods (Jewelry) in order to raise orphanages and churches around the realm. In exchange, Lady Ludovika gives the donator a little cheap fabric brooch to symbolize salvation to the generous devote.

Mesmerized by her beauty, the whole town turns upside down and quickly becomes a circus, a competition of who's more devote and give Lady Ludovika their most valuable gems and ornaments. Some even bring family heirlooms going for generations. During this process, Lady Ludovika takes a moment to show the townsfolk her generosity by donating a piece of her own, a very expensive looking ruby bracelet and wows the crowd.

Truth of the matter is Lady Ludovika is a Con Artist, a prostitute who had the genius idea to go town to town and scam everyone. She's not alone tho, she goes with a whole band of thieves and actors who perform quite a convincing spectacle.

So the premise is very simple. The Thief has the mission to fool the Lady:

    - Lady Ludovika is staying temporarily at the Church premises (a week), the thief not only has to be wary of town guards, he also needs to infiltrate the rooms where they keep the coffers with the stolen jewelry. Those are heavily guarded by the Lady's personnel.

    - Exchange the goods inside the coffers with something of the same weight. (Sack of potatoes or stones for example).

    - Find Lady Violante's family heirloom in the stash and return it to her while sleeps at her manor. The thief doesn't want the beautiful Lady Violante to suffer of such vandalism.

    - Make Sure Lady Ludovika gets suspicious she might get caught so that she decides to leave early and in her celerity wont check the vault contents before leaving.

    - Find a small coffer beside Lady Ludovika where she keeps her Ruby Bracelet. Exchange it for a Venus Bag, lol yes a Medieval Condom. So that she knows what's up when she already leaves town and won't dare to ever come back.

1646 Oldest Condoms in the World Discovered

    dudley-castle-england.jpg

During excavations in 1985 at Dudley Castle in the West Midlands, England (pictured), the contents of the castle toilet (aka ‘garderobe’) were discovered remarkebly intact and subsequently sorted for further analysis by the Department of Scientific Research at the British Museum.

It’s believed the contents remained so well preserved due to the latrine being sealed circa 1947 due to the castle being under siege during the English Civil War (1642-1651).

Examination identified several animal-membrane condoms, thought to be the earliest physical evidence of the use of animal-membrane condoms in post-medieval Europe.

It remains unclear however whether the condoms were used for contraceptive or as protection against venereal diseases.

  11. The Eye Adaptation thing brightens the dark area automatically so perhaps that's why the Image seems birther. It changes when the player moves to a dark corner close to the wall.

If you move further from the wall, more to the center into a bright area the shadows become darker again.

  12. Calm down. The bloom is included in the HD Mod. I use Ambient Light. It just intensifies the closer you get to the light source. When you get a few steps back it goes back to normal. The eye adaptation feature works pretty well in Deus Ex, in Thief is a bit harder to tweak but you're at least able to see shapes in the dark which for me works well in Thief. It's a matter of taste as well, I try to use common sense from my perspective.

If I'm looking directly at a light source while close to it, should be blinding.

If i'm in a room and there's a light source in it, I should be ale to distinguish shapes in the dark areas.

If I'm outside with a full moon, it shouldn't be so dark on the ground.

I also use Color Matrix then tweak the saturation to eliminate exaggerated tints in textures.
