  1. Thief 4 in the works. Told ya so . http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=76374
  2. Regardless people here work, without it they wouldn't have the lights on.
  3. The thing is it's not just marketing. It's mainstream. Splinter Cell is a game a newbie to PC gaming can play or video gaming in general. (Consoles) That is what set it apart from Thief. Thief was hard for someone new to get into. I played it and it took a while to get adjusted. It was scary and challenging. People get turned off by that very easily. They are scared. The same goes for Deus Ex. I was intimidated by it's complex RPG system. Now I laugh at myself because it's not hard at all once you understand it. The process of learning the game is the hardest sell. That is why I believe games are being made a bit easier to learn. Bioshock is a perfect example of that. It was a great game and I beat it. However it lacked replay value and could of used more depth. A sacrifice so that it can be more mainstream. I don't see it as a bad thing that much because I want the creators to make money. You don't make money, you can't keep making games. Bioshock struck a good balance between the old and the new.
  4. Lol that's funny about the designer. He's just cocky. As for Third person stealth action games not working, I wholeheartedly disagree. Sales numbers come to mind. Splinter Cell is multi million dollar selling franchise. So how do they not work? Have you played Splinter Cell: Double Agent online? It is quite good . As for MGS, I played the first one on the modified Gamecube version. It was good somewhat great but I failed to see the appeal just like you. However I find that it is because people that like MGS perhaps might not know much about real life scenarios. (Special ops etc) Thus they lean on MGS for their special ops/tactical gameplay/sneaker fix. Just like I would lean on Thief for my sneaking fix.
  5. So I just finished playing The Graveyard. It's interesting but I alt+f4 during the song. Still gotta give em credit for trying something new.
  6. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/863/863825p1.html Nice trailer. BTW MGS is more than shooting. It's a tactical stealth action oriented game with rich storylines.
  7. Did you ever get to play Zelda: The Ocarina of Time? It is quite simply the perfect game.
  8. I challenge you to play The Graveyard. An indie game that is free to play. I also would like to see your take on it . http://www.tale-of-tales.com/TheGraveyard/
  9. LOL This game might just be good enough for Oddity to notice. http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3167223 Heck GTA 4 is shaping up to have 100 hours of game play and an experience that will definitely not disappoint. I can't believe 2008 is going to be a bigger gaming year than 2007. It's crazy. Me thinks Oddity should make a sculpture of this image. http://www.gamestop.com/gs/images/340x395/340x395_270173.jpg Anywho hats off to Oddity's nice work. So anyone here excited about MGS 4. Might just make me buy a Playstation 3. Quote from article Snake's health quickly becomes a legitimate concern in the game, and the game expertly illustrates this in subtle ways. In the heat of a shootout, you may see Snake grimace in pain and grab his lower back -- it's a nicely nuanced animation that really humanizes our hero, but potentially deadly at the same time -- one second of hesitation can quickly lead to a life-ending ambush. You'll have to constantly regulate Snake's condition by keeping an eye on the new Psyche and Stress gauges: Psyche reflects how Snake's mind reacts to the battle around him (when things get too crazy, he'll have trouble aiming) while Stress combines mental and physical factors (high stress can lead to a Combat High, a period of heightened accuracy and defense that unfortunately segues into a sluggish, post-high crash.) end quote
  10. LOL that guy is so fired. Dumbass. I could of held the laugher because I've seen big guys talk like that. (Mike Tyson).
  11. Yes they have, however if you throw a grenade in the room where you have to find a key quest npc, he will blow up. Meaning if you don't have a save before entering the room and doing that you're fubared. Have to start the game all over. Luckily I backup every hour so I had an extra save. However back tracking an hour through creepy hell lab was not fun . It was easier of course.
  12. All I have to say is ROFLx1 million. I have never, ever laugh so hard in my life at an image. I don't know why but it's so fucking hilarious I can't control myself. It's crazy. :takes breather trying not to think about image: http://pixeloo.blogspot.com/
  13. That looks nice and interesting. Ty for link.
  14. As far as EA has said they were making this game before TF 2 came out. It just so happens they were using the same style as TF 2.
  15. Games are fun and that's why people play them. They play them so thy can have a little fun and forget about their problems for a little while. The mind tends to forget on purpose, otherwise people would die of sadness.
  16. Pfft. Star was is anything but cheap opera trash or mass market whatever. To put it simply when I was a little kid I picked up the VHS and saw a guy holding a sword. It said Star Wars. I didn't understand the movie that much but I understood the core beliefs. Friendship, honor, being a good person, and fighting for what you believe in. Sure beats the teenage movie crap available in theaters today. Star Wars a long with Lord of the Rings are the best trilogies ever made on film. They touch on the core believes of friendship, hard work, honor, doing the right thing, and other stuff I can't think of at 5 am in the morning. George Lucas I believe sold his house or took out two mortgages to make that movie. Plus it was a disaster before it even hit the first screening. He almost died of stress as well as the doctor told him he needs to stop stressing out. Lets just say the first Star Wars was the farthest from "Mass market trash" it could possibly be. It is to this date a huge risk. George Lucas pretty much put every last cent he had on the line. After the first screening the audience gave a standing applause. Then when it hit theaters it was a phenomenon. Any way Star Wars will always have a special place in my heart. It deserves a lot of respect at least from me because George Lucas made the movies the way he intended to make them. They are the type of movies you can show your family and children and they can see what the real world is like. Especially in Revenge of the Sith. If you haven't seen it then you should because it just goes to show what happens when you go down a bad path. So that's that. I love Star Wars. Oh yeah one more thing Oddity. You should at least play the Bioshock demo. It's free and 20 mins of your time toward a game that has won dozens of awards can't be that bad can it? I think it's worth your time.
  17. OMG Oddity says he likes a game. Wandering if you have ever played Bioshock?
  18. No it won't and you were only a google search away .
  19. I'm taking a wait and see approach. STALKER was good but failed to be great. Still has too many bugs as well. I find it unacceptable.
  20. You move around in third person and whenever an enemy shows up the action pauses so you can switch between party members and select attacks. Here's a guide if you ever need help but the game is not that hard on normal setting. http://www.gamebanshee.com/starwarskotor/
  21. How long did you actually play it for? Also how far did you get? Did you talk to many people and learn about them?
  22. The game grows on you. The more you play it the better it gets.
