  1. Mad's Mountain

    post-2221-128058654454_thumb.jpg

Mad's Mountain is a small map for the vertical summer contest 2010

A gang of thieves recently stole a painting from the Builders. My client, a collector wants that painting for his personal collection.

The gang's hideout is in some caves in a mountain, outside of town.

The painting can probably be found on the upper levels, along with some of the more important members of the gang. Including their leader Bryce the Mad.

Little is known about this Bryce, but he is said to be ruthless to his victims and gang members. Anyway I doubt he got his nick-name for nothing, so I should be careful.

    I want to thank

    nbohr1more,

    Sotha, and

    peispud

    for beta testing the map

  2. A very good mission. It was a lot bigger than I thought at first.

Climing the tower was fun, especially due to the loose stones.

I completed all the objectives, exept the optional one. I thought I could climb the tower again, but the door was unfrobable when I got there.

So I just left the orb on the ground for anyone to pick up. Can't possible see what harm that could do laugh.gif

  3. In this mansion I'm working on I have a lot of walls that are 45 degrees. I made it by using the cutter tool to get them to stay on the grid. This way some of the walls become a little thiner or a little thicker than the north-south, east-west walls, but it si not something you notice in-game.

  4. Finally got around to play some missions. My monitor has been broke, so I been stuck with a small 13-or-so inch monitor for a while mad.gif

This mission was a really nice treat. The story was ok, I like how there is a bit of competition among the thieves.

It had some great gameplay, and like others I also liked the ambient sounds.

    Overall: Godt arbejde biggrin.gif

  5. I recently stumpled over a program called Wood Workshop. It can be used to make wood textures via an easy-to-use interface, and the possibilities are nearly endless. You can customize almost every aspect of the texture; size, knots, colour, rot, burnt wood, scratches just to mention a few.

I don't think it is possible to make bump maps with it though.

    It can be downloaded here:

  6. Then I found if I click the drive properties there is an option to set all folders the same so now it seems OK.

I didn't know that, and it's been annoying me to have the folders displayed differently. So thanks. :)

Unfortunetly I cannot offer any advise advice on the search issue. It's probably one of those things where Vista knows best what you want. Seems to be a lot of them :(

  7. I'm not sure if visportals have to extend a little into the worldspawn brushes of if it is enough to just touch them.

Does the visportal touch worldspawn all the way around? I does not work if there is a func_static on one of the sides.

You might check to see if one of the sides of the visportal brush has a wrong texture on it. It should be one side with visportal texture and the rest should have nodraw texture on them.
