  1. Excited to play this. Hopefully the heist at least has stealth as an option, cause we've been getting alot of loud heists lately, and although they're fun id like a new heist to stealth in. Clover seems like a good character as well so far!

And yeah, that video really seemed really similar to a thief briefing. Would be cool if it was done that way intentionally.

  2. Hard to believe that's sitting on top of Doom 2.

Perhaps at first, but isnt every ID engine a further iteration of a past ID engine? Basically meaning that you could replicate some features of even Doom 3 within Doom if you do enough coding.

Anyway, looks impressive for the most part graphically, especially since this is based on the doom engine. However, I wasn't really impressed with the jump scare at the end of the video. I liked the stalker-like inventory system, however.

I'll give it a shot when it comes out, seems like it has some promise!

  3. If you move TDM to Steam, you will keep a Steam free version too, right? Because not everyone want's a corporate client always running in the background to play a free game. If TDM ends up Steam-only, it would be less free for me!

There are plenty of Free Games on steam, and a few of them have come from greenlight too. Yes, If TDM ever does go up on steam it will remain 100% free. And No, just because TDM has the possibility of being on steam it does not mean the game would have to be steam only.

  4. hi everyone, im sure the answers may be hidden somewhere in the forum but.........

    1. as far as i can work out, is it just Dragons claw and The heart of lone salvation that are yet to be updated to TDM 2.0

    2. a Q. for one of the developers. why is there no place on the Darkmod loader screen for people to write notes/comments on the individual Fms as there is on darkloader, i have now got a whole notepad full of notes and my writing is so bad it takes me for ever to read my notes......

many thanks, esp to all the developers who have put in so much work over the years to give all of us so much fun and hours of entertainment ^_^

one other Q. is there anywhere on this forum that we friends of TDM can make a financial donation to help with the running costs, as would happily contribute.....occasionally

    I can answer 1 and 3.

    1. Yeah, pretty sure those are the only missions that need to convert to TDM 2.0 so far. Will be nice to see them back.

    3. The Dark Mod Devs don't accept financial donations on most occasions, however donating any skills you have currently or wish to acquire in the future is more appreciated and will likely have a longer lasting effect on the mod in general.

  5. I've only *really* gotten into the stealth genre fairly recently but i've always enjoyed playing stealthily in games before I was properly introduced to stealth games (With TDM and Thief: TDP, thanks guys!). The closest thing to a stealth game that i have played before TDM/Thief would probably be No One Lives Forever 2, forever ago, which I wish I owned the original but I still really liked playing through the game anyhow.

  6. Rather than making snide remarks, I'll just leave this here... http://www.reddit.co...u_have_visited/

*silently motions to his license agreement below as he leaves the room*

That was just confirmed to be mostly B.S. by Gabe himself.

    The actual post:

You shouldn't believe every rumor that pops up from a bowl mixed with lies and truths all in one bowl, and this kind of is an example of that IMO. I can understand being afraid of things related to the NSA but this really wasn't a big problem anyhow, and people just sort of got worked up over something that really wasn't much at all in this case.

EDIT: Looking back at this post, I feel as if I was being a bit abrasive here. I apologize if I did come off as being that here to anyone else.

  7. A TF2 promo for the game was just added in the latest TF2 update:

Seems like they are trying to get money from yet another audience. And as a TF2 fan myself, im not falling for it.

  8. Oh, this could be really useful.

Since I plan on making at least a few FM's in the future i would definitely like to have you're help if you stick around. I don't know when exactly I will start though so it may take some time. All I have to say so far is I may end up having some very ambitious plans.

  9. Wait, what? Why are there keepers in the game all of a sudden? I thought Thief 4 wasnt supposed to have them in the game in any form?

"Mysticism is an important part to Thief"

Is that why you told us that you were removing the mystical elements in the series from the game earlier on? Come the fuck on.

  10. We may want to wait to see how this pans out before taking anything further: http://www.kitguru.n...off-greenlight/

True, it could possibly lead to other, alternative (possibly even free) ways of publishing things onto steam aside from Greenlight, judging from what I'm reading in the article, which is a good thing.

I dont know about anyone else but I'm completely fine with waiting awhile before we get TDM on steam, I would still like to see it get on steam at some point, however.

  11. Yeah. Had a brief discussion about this with my brother. I made a point about how zombie games usually fail to present some sense of urgency and the crushing challenge to survive in a zombie apocalypse- how they are often very cavalier and naive about the whole thing.

But then my brother said that if it'd be a realistic scenario it'd be about a person sitting in a dark room with scarce supplies, counting days until s/he inevitably dies.

I don't think zombie games are my cup of tea (anymore) is the point I'm making. :P

The closest thing to that kind of zombie game is Project Zomboid.

  12. Hey guys, just posting this question in here for future reference for once/if i get to mapping with DarkRadiant.

Is DarkRadiant similar to the Hammer Editor for the Source Engine at all? I have some skill in using that editor and id like to know if having knowledge in that editor for that engine would help me understand how to work with DarkRadiant.

  13. Yawn. Zombies ultra slow... Player runs 40 km/h, can just jump over baddies like Super Mario, tirelessly climbs fences and cars and walls, kills zombies with one strike... Doesn't look very interesting or challenging.

You know, ultra-slow zombies could actually be kinda challenging if they are in huge crowds like they seem to be in this trailer, depends on how hard they hit, which we'd have to see when the game releases.

I do agree that the lack of a fatigue system is kinda bothersome though, but im not really bothered by it much, I just hope they add it in the future.

  14. Very BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for the link too.

    Here is my contribution.

I subscribe to the National Geographic magazine and some of their electron microscope images are amazing.

This one is my favourite of 2013. Weird, huh? :D

Looks like a Combine Advisor from HL2.

    Look out Eli!
