There is a lot of culling on the trees/foliage as well. They actually stop being rendered at a certain distance, regardless of visportaling. That gave a huge bump in performance.
Also, no rain helped.

Where do I begin...
The pacing? The player involvement? The aural/visual asthetics? The fluidity and progression of the story? The technical level design? The fact that I never got hung up on anything, was always moving forward, and was ALWAYS completely entertained and engrossed?
This is clearly the best Darkmod FM ever created, and my only complaint is that I wasn't a part of it.

I'm taking notes, thanks for the feedback Gantolandon. If you find bugs, PLEASE screencap them and show us here so we can fix them in NHAT 2.01.
And believe it or not, there were several other keyhunt scenariors that I REMOVED the day before we shipped NHAT 2.0.

I've played through 2 of the 3 missions and I'm having some serious issues with the third.
I've managed to get into the showroom and on the ground it says something about stags, so I figured you either stay in or out of the gaze of the skulls to avoid dying, unfortunatly either way this doesn't seem to work. I've managed to find safe spots by just running around but am completely unable to pick up anything off the display pedestals including the rope arrow and chalice which is a mission requirement. I've even shot arrows at the items to see if they move but they're all glued to the pedestals. Is this a bug?
Follow the stare of the NEAREST stag into the next. You'll notice they create a safe pathway. To grab the Chalice, you may have to lean forward a little bit (default bind "F)". Everything else in that room is NON FROBABLE, meaning it can't be picked up.

I may have found a bug - whenever I approach the altar in the cathedral church area, TDM hangs on me and I have to kill the process.
Edit: I think it's something with the candles on the right of the iron hammer - crash happens usually when I look in their general direction and the place where they are becomes visible.
We have found this bug post release, and will be fixing it hopefully next week.

They have such tacky PR...although I am glad the XP and "BOOM HEADSHOT" systems are gone.
-
I don't see why we can't provide a Politics 2.01 update for fixing these issues... However, if you all don't mind me saying, they are for the most part fairly minor. I hope you guys enjoy the campaign regardless

I just came from loading Politics into DR and I couldn't find any of the problems you mentioned skacky. Post some screenies if you can

NO HONOR AMONG THIEVES 2.0
"An old friend of mine approached me the other night with some interesting information. Apparently, our beloved Governor, Archibald Cloist, is a whore monger and a liar. Nothing out of the norm for Bridgeport’s politicians, but there’s an interesting string attached to all of this. The local religious authorities, the “Builders”, have found him out, and have been paid out by the Governor himself to keep their mouth shut. The Builder in question is the Arch-Bishop himself, “Lavonte Duchane”.
These two really seem like my type, bribing and blackmailing away at each other. So much so I think I’ll join them. I highly doubt if the situation were made public it would fare well for either of their careers. Archibald would lose the noble’s financial support and the public trust, and the Arch-Bishop would probably face prison time and “Builder Scourging."
So tonight’s the night. I’m going to break into a religious maniac’s Cathedral, black mail a Governor, and rob everyone blind in the process."

Hi,
Currently finishing up NHAT for 2.0 release, and am experiencing issues with the intro sequences for each mission.
About half the time, the music just STOPS during the intro sequence of my FM's.
Any ideas?
**edit: ahhh crap, a typo in the thread title...

I've managed to watch a playthrough in the first mission of T4 at PAX Prime this last weekend.
I will admit, T4 it looks very slick. Stylized and streamlined, no doubt. The graphics and art design were nothing short of absolutely stunning. Lockpicking and pocket picking is a huge improvement over T1-T2. In my opinion, it bared little resemblance to Dishonored, both in the graphics and gameplay departments. Overall, the game looked like 85% stealth, 5% puzzles, and 10% combat. The gameplay most definitely favored stealth. Comparing this to Dishonored which favored combat but COULD be stealth'd, I consider this a huge positive for T4. There was plenty of sneaking through dark mansions with the occasional blackjack, while eavesdropping conversations through doors. Very moody and thief like. I was pleasantly surprised by the general "flow" of level, which -barring the QT moments and UI handholding- played like a standard T1 mansion heist.
I really hated the 3rd person/lack of jumping/QT moments however. That and the exp/flying numbers and UI handholding. Yuck.
Still... IF this game has a "purist mode", I would definitely play it through.
I remain cautiously optimistic. I'm hoping for an enjoyable, Thiefy experience.

I've let go of having another Thief: The Dark Project... I'll let TDM fill that gap.
Once the crushing disappointment subsided, I re evaluated T4, and... I'm almost optimistic. I'm sure I'll have fun playing a faux Thief game, won't I? I think I will. Hopefully my thieving "itch" will get scratched in the process.

Those are some of the most beautiful screens of TDM related content I have ever seen.
Congrats. I can't wait to play it.

Hey Sakonosolo,
I don't know if there is much that can be done for those portions you mentioned. I know we addressed and fixed those exact areas areas you mentioned in our current working copy of NHAT (releasing still pending...), so you may have to wait
-
Reading this thread, a little part of me died inside.
-
Biker has been doing the majority of the work. I've been cheering on the sidelines . ♥ Bikerdude
We've been fixing for 2.0, and have decided to re-release NHAT with 2.0.
-
Hahah, "bling". They look/perform way better in many areas.
-
It''s still happening people! Moving in on the final stages here.

I thought this was real... demagogue, you sly devil.
-
It's looking slick boys. Can't wait to release!
-
Basically Biker and nbohr1more has been HEROES on NHAT, doing most of the technical work.
-
We are ridiculously close to release... it will be worth the wait.
So far we have...
New graphics.
Bugfixes.
Massively improved performance (double, and triple in areas).
Re recorded ALL the custom voice overs.
Campaign stringing/item carryover.
It'll be worth it!
Soon...

The previous producer talking about "consolization" of Thief, plus the "action move" gave me a blood heart attack. These points gave me hope, though, and seem to contradict what he was saying.

Default binding for drop item is "R". Walk up to Kutty's table, hit R ON the table with your stash selected.
