  1. Yeah, Tenchu 1 is very, very hard to get the best rating (don't be spotted outside of boss fights). Thankfully, you can get a PS1 emulator and save before you attempt a stealth kill, as the AI are very unpredictable.

  2. I asked about them on the Haggard Games forum, this is what I got from Alexey:

    "Well, normal maps stored in "compressed" format. You will have to decompress them to make it look like regular normal map. There is only X and Y stored in DDS file. Z computed in real time.
    Final normal will be:

    Normal.X = TextureDDS.Alpha * 2 - 1.0;
    Normal.Y = TextureDDS.G * 2 - 1.0;
    Normal.Z = sqrt( 1.0 - Normal.X*Normal.X + Normal.Y*Normal.Y );

    To convert back to regular normal map RGB values:

    Pixel.RGB = Normal.XYZ * 0.5 + 0.5;"

  3. The Death to Spies games never came out in Australia as far as I know, therefore this game will NEVER come out in Australia. Also, the Steam page says it'll come out on March 12th, but it must be my local time. Also, the console versions seem to be buggy, most likely a transfer issue. There's a bug which seemingly affects models with multiple headgear meshes - they wear them all at the same time eg. German soldiers wearing both caps and helmets, officers wearing glasses and eyepatch. BTW, I don't have to worry about the PC version being censored, I found a review of the PC version.

  4. A thought just occurred to me... These "boom shrooms" sound like a good way to subdue a werebeast. I was thinking of making a mission set in the sewers, in which you have to subdue a werebeast so the City Watch can incarcerate him. Maybe use the sewers to break into an apothecary to steal a boom shroom and some sap from a yew tree (get the reference?), use the sap to lure the werebeast to the boom shroom and watch him eat it. :) But these ideas primarily depend on whether a proper werebeast can be successfully implemented.

  5. You really should post these videos on the Haggard Games forum, I'm sure they'd have the time to look at your Saboteur walkthroughs. Nice playthrough, BTW, I never thought it'd be possible to complete King's Riddle without killing all those people on the docks.

    As for me, the greatest stealth game challenge has to be the Bathhouse mission from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, specifically the end of the mission with the firefight and bomb diffusal segments. The firefight guarantees it near impossible to get 100% on this mission.

  6. There really should be mods for the first Splinter Cell. I think the Kola Cell missions were originally meant to take place between the Kalinatek and Chinese Embassy missions, judging from what I found on the PC demo's files years ago, the briefing for the first Chinese Embassy mission saying they used intelligence gleaned from the attempted attack on the Pickett Gap water plant instead of what was found in Kalinatek, data sticks mentioning Masse's death, the PS2-exclusive Nuclear Power Plant mission, and the fact that the GBA port of the game has a shipyard and submarine mission between the US and Myanmar missions.

  7. The release date has been pushed back yet again, to March 1st. This will totally bugger up my plans, as not only will the new Hitman would be out by then, the Thieves Guild DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online will be released on PC a few days later, and I want to spend some time with it.

    On the plus side, here's a new video, which shows part of the sixth mission in the game, Omerta:
