thanks sotha, the sound shader is finnished...where should i save it ? in the mapsfolder with the map name or in a new "sound" folder ? tested both but didnt work...

little trigger problem:
is it possible to trigger one sound of a list randomly? for example triggering randomly one barking sound of 5 implemented ?

I think large (>64x64 pixels) avatars are useful only for inflating your ego - "O LOOK MY AVATAR IS BIG. I APPEAR MORE IMPORTANT."

looking stunning JB. any estimated release date for your fm?
oh, hard to give an idea, every time when i say that this is the way to build the rest of the map my creativity is comming up and say do this, do that, and so its all bigger than i thought about it in january.
also the story changed some times and 7upMan is hard working (hopefully...an 7upMan: scherz) on this point.
Because the last 2 weeks i have a low point, the progress is slowed a bit.
But in my opinion its better to have a good mission than a fast "half" finished one

ahh, you mean shadowhide, i for me never had problems with him . but i know some topics which you are talking about...
and also when i gave some advices somebody fought them directly.
to say this again clearly: if i say something its an advice not criticism.

If it's not enterable, then try exporting it as .ase should help with performance. No wait, do I see some model trim in there? Still, that could be converted or just left as separate models.

i often think about the problem of the "not so good" nature models in TDM.
after seeing this:
i think the trees could look more like this. yes, it needs bether hardware but they look much bether.
i played around with blender in the past but the DR editor is more my way of creation new worlds and not a modeleditor.
or did i miss this models in the list ?

In tdm_base01.pk4\script\ you can find doom_events.script and tdm_events.script, that's pretty much what you're looking for.
thats a good one, but also there a newbe have to search VERY long and have to experiment long time. My idea is to do this VERY simpel:
see the topic of the script, read some lines of discription and copy the nearly finished script into theyr own, change some things, finished

because i have to do scripting in some weeks i want to ask if we, or those who skripted allready can create a library of scripts (or does such a thing excist allready?) .

I dont know why I didnt think fo this earlier... I have a laptop I use for testing my missions to provide some sort of scalability before I release them.
Dell Xps M1330
1280*800 screen
T9550 (a mobile 2.66Ghz c2d)
geforce 8400GS
AV97 on-board sound
4GB ram
vista sp1
It runs all the biggest T2 FM's with ease but for TDM I have had to turn all the options right down to keep the frame rate in the 25fps mark. So if you want another tester etc you know where I am.
Regarding your main rig, that's some monster you got there, mine is -
3.0Ghz core 2 quad (Qx9650)
GTX 480 (asus v-tweak)
6GB DDR2-1066 ram
1.2TB raid-0 array (320*4)
thats the idea...my old laptop , before i created and build up my new machine (called "nabla-operator" for the math, nerds and engineers) i also played tdm on it...thats the way to test, thanks for this idea...so everybody (except betatesters) can fully enjoy the mission at the first time.

Optimization is only thing I expecting from D3 sources , TDM is not nextgen game,pc with 2gb ram and 512 mb card should be enough to play it without lags
sorry for that but ....noooo XXXDDDD....also the severs are hard to render on 7upMans PC...after some optim it shouldnt be that big problem but such a slow sys...dont know
After changing to my new Sys with all high end components and overclocking its hard to check when it is too much of detail^^

because 7upMan is testing some parts and i want to know how far i can go, i want to know if there are systems which are much slower than this one of 7upMan:
AMD Phenom 2 X3 720 - 2,8 GHz Triple-Core
4 GB DDR2-1066
Radeon HD5770
This one which are faster than this one, dont care...

nope, walking 3 ai since a week...only added some brushes and 2 or 3 patches...and deletet lights as well...
but why should it be ok after reboot in this way?

what is the problem:
i boot my system, start my map to look for the things what i want to do today.
i often dmap the map and start it to have a look ingame. After some times of dmapping and starting the map the fps get down trastically (f.e. in one part from ~60 to ~30 !). but i didnt create much more in this time, i even deletet 5 lights ! all other games are running fine furthermore.
after a reboot all is running ok up to 60 fps.
have somebody else this problem ? and why is it ?

Hi, I have 2 ideas how on my opinion The Dark Mod would be more fun.
1. Spending loot.
Well yeah, collecting loot is fun, but it would be more fun if I could spend the loot that I collect on equipment .
How about this - if a user could create his account and all the loot that he collects would be stored and he could spend it on equipment in any other mission.
2. About accounts - I think it would be nice if the dark mod user would create an online user account in the game and he could add people to his friends list and there was some sort of rating\achievement system.
1. there is also a prob with the difficulty level...if you have 2000 gold a mission is much easyer then the mapper think it should be...or the other way a mission can be unplayable with to less money
2. for what do we need this...thief was ever a fun game on its own way...if you would like to have a ranking and ach. -> COD 1 to black ops
and a ranking of singleplayer missions is senseless i think
