I'm about two seconds from taking my $150 Blu-ray drive outside and introducing it to a bat. The thing produces nothing but coasters on both Windows and Linux. If I do, I will record it.

  I would love to switch to tape for doing backups, but the drives are obscenely expensive. I can't wait until 256 GB flash drives are $25.
