Brillinat mate. Why not stay till the end of the development process? The bow seems quit high on the back...
  2. As there doesn't seem to be a forum for general games discussion and also so I won't start many threads on different games I thought I'd do a new thread here. The new shots of XBox360 SC4 look rather good. They're still using Unreal 2 or 2.5 engine on it. They've got the Unreal 3 engine but will use it for further SC games, possibly with Fisher in them. Check the shots here: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=142330

Will do Timothy. I really like the look of thos models. Oddity is very talented. It reminds me of a mix of Garrett, Robin Hood and a ninja. BTW, which model is actually going to be used?

So it'd be too difficult to do?

So can those 3 models of the Thief actually be used in game? The renders that is. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/uploads/post-5-1109789155.jpg http://forums.thedarkmod.com/uploads/post-5-1109789502.jpg http://forums.thedarkmod.com/uploads/post-5-1109801299.jpg

I'm non technical and hence slightly naive. Is it possible for those models of the Thief to actually be in game. You know the one of the Thief holding the Bow...
  7. That weather system looked amazing a few years ago. It looked realistic.
  8. Alan Wake does seem interesting. I like the whole small town America, Twin Peaks vibe about it.
  9. It still seems quite interesting. Especially if it can play properly as etiher a FPS or a stealth game, depending how you want to play it. The AI should be able to do both hopefully.
  10. That would be so cool. The whole city completely mapped and free to explore. You have a central story possibly, or get given missions to do etc.
  11. Yeah, it's a good idea to be holed up in a forum with liked minded people so you don't have to hear others opinions. Best to stick to the mod developers one then
  12. Why? Is he Warren Spector or something? I can tell he knows his stuff with regards to technical stuff, but he's obnoxious.
  13. Wow a loud mouthed brat, from Uncle Sam who can't be bothered to spell my name properly. Does that seem a bit racist? A bit like not pronouncing my name properly then. You're always right and the most knowledgeable here ole Jerko aren't you? You're the ultimate example of the forum bully. Someone who is always right and no-one can disagree with him. If anyone does, then you have some derogarotary comment to get them in line.
  14. I know that. I didn't realise this was going to be implemented in. Also it would give your position away, if you were trying to be stealthy.
  15. @ Gildoran Thanks man. Wit regards to the lights. In SPlinter Cell they have lights with gauze over them to stop them being shot out. Is there any way of implementing lights that can and those that can't be. Say like out in the streets and in normal houses they can be knocked out, but say in a castle or mansion with a lot of loot they can't be knocked out?
  16. How would you see and do stuff in a pitch black level?
  17. The difference between gamers and tech-heads. Hopefully with my learning the stuff you guys know, I'll understand what you guys are coming from.
  18. True, but as said before I'm looking at possiblity from the view of a gamer not a developer. I just didn't think like how you think about the technical, manpower etc side to it. As I've said before unfortunately the last 24 years or so, I've been a gamer and not a programmer/ designer and such. You on the otherhand know about all that side, so also know about the difficulties with it from a variety of factors. I'm only just starting in that sort of direction.
  19. Listen, I know Wolfenstein came out first, but Doom popularised the whole thing and made it into a profitable marketing brand. The FPS that is. It is the father of that style of boring/repetitive generic gameplay that spawned Unreal, Serious Sam etc.
  20. This looks very promising though. COuld be extremely involving. A sort of FPS Oblivion, but with lighter inventory management etc.
  21. Hehehe...I know what you mean buddy. This looks more involving. You should see the silly debate in the other thread: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?showt...amp;#entry72677
  22. Did you read the new preview from GameSpot Atti?
  23. Just wondering whether most of these games with their own engines are moddable. That's all. OK I won't ask it again. I think it's just a difference of opinion between those who develop, mod etc a game and a gamer. To me as a gamer, I just see the possibility of a Thief Mod or a Ninja style mod etc. I don't think of the technical stuff most of the time admittedly.
  24. Do most of these games provide SDK's? I could imagine STALKER being one ripe for modding.
