  1. I'm going to sidetrack the thread for just 1:18 minutes, give or take. :P

For those that haven't played Undying, check out some of the music on Youtube, and give a listen.

Main theme can give me a shiver, its sooo good.

    And the church chant.

Sorry can't help it, another one to give me goose bumps on my arms.

  2. That's exactly where I am as well. That banging, and then the first worm came, and I crapped my pants most heartily. I shut it down there last week looking forward my next play session.

Should I be attempting to stealth around them? I haven't tried. Those things need to be put down.

Crouch, hide in a corner somewhere, you can turn away from them, and you'll calm down. Crouch you probably know makes you less visible to the AI. I did that all the time, sometimes it definitely was easier doing it that way instead of taking on ever single dog. Forgetaboutit.

  3. You are so correct about that. I wonder how they do those Ninja moves, I think its a birth right.

Ummm Baddcog, how did you guess? Playing my games, I suddenly get stuck, I've gotten busted, have you peered into my computer? lol

OK, who here has cats? Or dogs. We've got 3 cats.

  4. TY Biker! you're a life savor. I may need that. See lately, our cat Calvin has been getting clever, as he sits on my lap, he's always hitting the space bar. I can't move, I cannot do a thing. Little bastard, he thinks he's fooling me, he's not. I'm on to his game, this program will help immensely. :)

Here are a few favorites of mine, I hope they show up alright.

  5. Holy crap, their headphone recommendation is valid! I'm around an hour into the game and already taking a break with my pipe to calm my nerves. I'll have to somehow explain to my professors why I won't get much sleep tonight while I play through this thing.

Tiny details and the thought behind horror in this game are scary awesome. I was wandering one area, and found an upright piano. Investigating, I opened the lid to reveal the keyboard. Nope, seems like the main character cannot play the piano. So I close the lid again and move on. Seconds later when I'm a few rooms away, I hear Chopin on the piano. As I cautiously walk back toward the hall with the piano, the music fades, and I find the piano's lid open again. Slightly unnerved, I turn around and begin to walk away... only for the lid to slam violently behind me.

Then I mashed Esc on my keyboard and turned my desklamp on again.

THAT is so awesome! Your description of it, man I can't wait to play it. How they set that up, fantastic. Its the little details like that, in any game, I love it. It makes it more memorable to me.

I have to wear headphones, being partially deaf, its the only way to play for me.

  6. Seven Sisters is fabulous! Loved playing that one, she is so good at story telling. Love her work. I know she's been back at it again. Can't wait to see what she's makes again. She's another author I'll play in a heart beat, there are so many good authors, I can't name them all. :)

  7. Rose Cottage is amazing work. I don't understand how Saturnine and helpers could do all that, even with all the editor tricks on their side.

I remember when Dave/Saturnine showed me screen shots of his beginning work on it, mainly the bathroom. I was floored, you've got to be kidding me! I told him. He and caffeinated zombie made so many objects, it wasn't funny. I know towards the end, it was a mad rush to finish it, and get it released by Halloween. They got a lot of help tweaking that damn thing, bugs, triggers, making it work right. Wasn't easy.

  8. There are a few T2 authors, when they release something, I will play their FM without a doubt. DrK is one of them. His Night In Rougsbourg series is dynamite. His use of textures, his story telling, and the voice acting! Top notch, I helped beta test his last FM, there are a few FM's that I remember testing. DrK and Saturnine, Yandros too. You won't forget those guys. As the days wear on, I find myself more involved with TDM. I've played Thief since the beginning, its time for a change, its evolution again.

Fidcal, play Rose Cottage, you want stunning again, take a look. Best damn opening for any FM hands down.

  9. I've played Penumbra, the whole series. This bunch just likes to pick things apart, you think this is bad, go over to TTLG and see the multi page thread on this, that started a year ago.

So few horror games, this game isn't horrible, I'll play it. Favorite games are Thief of course, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, Undying, Alice, few others.

  10. Yeah, since its so linear, have to go one way, once you're through, you're through and you know it. TDM and Thief have spoiled us silly. :P:)

By that rotating value/handle. I threw a crate near the handle, jumped over to it, and just casually turned the handle while the beasties had lunch elsewhere.

  11.

Also I'm just about completely tired of horror-this survival-that. Meaning I am actually way beyond completely tired of it (sick of it) as I never much liked it to begin with but only enjoyed a few of the better ones anyway...

What else are you suppose to do in a horror game besides survive, have tea? :P

    Shalebridge Cradle made me yawn.
